| Quote Saddened!="Saddened!"The Watmough injury in particular seems strange. The article seems to think it happened during a scrum?'"
Burgess smashed him as he was going down in a tackle. Nothing wrong with it at all but you can see Watmough down on his haunches after he plays the ball and the physio came on. Maybe the time wasting thing came about because he was struggling for a bit after the collision?

Its guaranteed to be an Aussie ref in the final now anyway.'"
Well, not necessarily. If Australia play New Zealand, then it needs to be a neutral referee, so it will probably be Ganson again!
Anyway, couple of things I've noticed. I see that Leon Williamson is refereeing France v Australia. Surprised that Sheens hasn't whinged about that. After all, Leon isn't "full time".
And also Shayne "Dave, Dave Peachey, Dave Peachey" Hayne has not been given England v New Zealand; he's refereeing the European Cup Final between Wales and Ireland instead! :

| Quote Big Steve="Big Steve"''There's been a bit of garbage in the games, and they're not used to that,'' Sheens said. ''That's the situation. There's been plenty of marks on their faces and there's been a little bit, from our boys' points of view: 'Is that how it's going to be?'
''We have to understand that things are different here, and you're not protected like you are in the NRL. The game's not the same.''
I've never seen a more obvious attempt to influence a ref!!'" Well, if we're going to quote selectively...
Quote Big SteveNot everything's been illegal, but there's been enough penalties. And we haven't been completely innocent either.'"

He's obviously referring to the Lee Smith "tackle" on Billy Slater.

That will be tricky, what with Wales being in the same group as Ireland.
Wales will be playing Scotland, Ireland will play Lebannon for third place.
Would you believe that Italy and Serbia didn't do well?

Smith and Billy "the gob" Slater were at it all game, I wonder if it was something slater said
It was interesting that slater was behaving like a petulant child toward the end and Thurstons dummy spits deserved a yellow.
I think we should bring in a "naughty step" just for the aussies

| Quote Big Steve="Big Steve"Sorry? You mean like you did in your first post?'" No need to apologise.
My first post offers a contradiction to the thread title and provided an example from the article which gave a proper flavour to Sheens statements.
You took one bit, out of context, to try and support the thread title. My quotes arr more representative of what the article is really about.

 Don't know why I got that wrong, I was only watching both games last night. :lol;

| Both sides were niggling at each other. I'm sure Sam Tomkins will have known he'd been in a game at the end because they were constantly giving him sly digs.
At least England came up with roughouse tactics unlike Billy Slater who was like a poncy footballer keep kicking and throwing the ball away when England had a penalty or a scrum.
