All the history of Rugby League is in the museum which is in the George Hotel Huddersfield, inluded in the hotel is the room where the break came, it is now called the Founders Bar, I visited the George Hotel last Sunday to see an old school classmate made a Heritage Rugby League Legend, I was among 200 visitors that came to see Michael Sullivan given this honour at a very moving ceremony, with excellent tributes from his Australian opponents, and from another legend Mr Colin Hutton. To those who have not visited this museum, Please take a trip over to Huddersfield to see the Greatest Games history. You will be pleasantly surprised!.

Quote: Derwent "Broughton Rangers became defunct in 1955, '"

They did, but they'd moved to Belle Vue and changed name to Belle Vue Rangers in 1945/46.
See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broughton_Rangers

So, in answer to the OP, I can say that I did see Belle Vue Rangers play. That would have been in their last few years of existence when they were one of the few teams that Liverpool City could beat occasionally. icon_smile.gif

Different club, the pro one was Brighouse Rovers and the current club is Brighouse Rangers. The original club couldn't pay their rent and folded
