Succumbing to the tackle is the essence of players "finding the ground" in order to get a quick play the ball: it is the basis of much of the way the game is played around the tackle, and the reason why the "surrender" call has to be made, to redress the balance of advantage a little way back in favour of the defending side.
I wasn't arguing, or contradicting, merely attempting to add to an interesting discussion.
But anyway, thanks Ferocious Aardvark for that "WTF": it has helped me decide that this is my last ever contribution or visit to this website. I shall get my RL news somewhere else, and no longer listen to some of the truly objectionable people this site seems to encourage.
