| I wouldnt be hugely suprised if it went on in RL, some teams/players will do anything to win but to be honest how many blood bins have you seen this season? Even if every single one, which it obviously isnt, was dishonest its not exactly rampant.

| can't see it in rl these days, saturday night for example, graeme horne got head injury, ian smith produced blood bin card, yet allowed the fc physio/doctor to wrap bandage around his head instead of him leaving the pitch

| Doesn't a blood bin count as an interchange in RL thus rendering underhand tactics unnecessary? What would be the point?

yes fair point, the dean richards fiasco was to bring a player back on the field who had been previously replaced, although it might appear so in union they don't have a substitute system like we have they have a replacement system, once a player has gone off he is not allowed back except in exceptional circumstances, most notably for a blood injury (or in the case of prop forwards on safety grounds to form a scrum). As we have a free flowing interchange it would never happen.

| Before anyone attempts to take the moral high ground on this, they should read Barrie Mac's autobiography. A version of this trick was attempted (unsucessfully) during a GB game involving Karl Harrison and Bazza.
Not as outlandish as a blood capsule, but an attempt at deception nontheless.

blood bins subs are included within the 12 interchanges, think its been like that since the subs were increased. Ref still has his blood bin card to send players from the field however they do seem to stay on without much argument.

A change introduced to combat systematic abuse by teams who were faking blood bins in order to get extra interchanges.
