A fella called Sean Skelton played for us and captained South Africa in the 2000 World Cup. Think he was born in SA and brought up in Australia though. He played a fair bit of first grade rugby for South Sydney and Canterbury Bulldogs in the NRL.
Good player too.
We also had a second-rower in the late 90's called Andy Ballot who was a born and bred South African. He also played at Doncaster and Hunslet.

Bradford Northeren had David Barrends 'the Bantu wingman' in the 70's and early 80's, although he did play for GB

This is why I always laugh when the talk comes up about a "merged game", with "merged rules" and how much money it would make.

I can just see the reaction of the SARU when the RFU and ARU approach them asking if they are interested in changing the game to include some league rules...

i could recall him playing for someone else but couldn't remember the team. Did a good job for us at the time.
