Semi-pro means there's at least some money in it for players, I doubt any AMNRL clubs have that at this point.

Bit of a bad time for a new pro league asking for backing from sponsors with a recession hanging over our heads. They just won't get the money they need. In a few more years I think they will pull it off then.

If only they were Real Madrid. In the midst of the worst financial crisis in the history of Spain and the banks are falling over themselves to throw money at Florentino Perez et al.

But Real are the richest football club (I think.) They play in one of the most competitive and glamorous football domestic leagues and play in front of millions of people each week on telly, never mind the 80,000 per week in attendance.

If USNRL can pull the same figures, Im sure banks and businesses will be falling over themselves to sponsor that as well.
