34439.jpg winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11

Crowd mayhem as ref denies Dogs. ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA 20 BULLDOGS 18
A DECADE ago Steve Clark left Kogarah through a shower of spit and abuse after a dramatic Dragons-Bulldogs clash.
The same two teams returned to the scene last night - and this time Clarke was hailed a hometown hero.
The video referee made one of the most controversial calls in years, denying the Bulldogs a last-minute match-winner that left visiting coach Kevin Moore feeling gutted.
Trailing 20-18 with 39 seconds left, Luke Patten busted the Dragons line and sent Jamal Idris away for his second touchdown. The movement was so crisp that even the scoreboard attendant put the Bulldogs ahead.
But Clark was to have the final say, agreeing with complaints from Dragons pivot Jamie Soward. The talented five-eighth argued that he was prevented from tackling Patten by Bulldogs utility Greg Eastwood.
Greg Eastwood didn't try to obstruct Jamie Soward - what's he supposed to do, dig a hole?" Moore fumed.

| Quote: LS14 RHINO "Have the Dragons announced any new signings for next year?
Poore is leaving so they'll need a prop and IMO they need a half back to replace Hornby (he's knowhere near good enough) a hooker to replace Young or to play Fien there and although i dont mind Darius Boyd i think a better full back is needed, Boyd's okay but okay wont win you anything, he's no Slater or Hayne is he, he's got 2 tries all year and he's better on the wing IMO.
Peaked too early but i'm sure with a couple of additions they'll be close again next year. Wouldn't put any money on them mind.
michael greenfields from souths, handy forward.
an islander from the tigers, young 19 yrs old
beau henry was the Toyota Cup player of the year and he is half back for our Under 20s who are 1 game from their GF.
so next year give the kid a go at 7, shift hornby to fullback, boyd to wing and wendall on bench or dropped altogether

Tries aren't everything for a fullback. Dugan only scored one try this year, but I honestly wouldn't trade him for any other fullback in the game, besides Hayne.
Boyd has impressed me at the Dragons. Didn't rate him very highly last year. I do now.

| Peni Tagive the young centre from the Tigers, i saw him play before he got injured earlier in the season.
I see Matt Cooper hasn't been picked in the Aussie train-on squad due to another injury, he's an absolute joke. Plays a game then misses two and it's been like that all season.
Justin Poore will be a big loss next season aswell, he's had a great year.
Morris, Soward, Boyd, Creagh, Weyman and Poore all in the Aussie squad.
