5. The superleague 'peace' made sure that the Broncos had no competition for 10 years in their market [the Gold Coast Titans were allowed in the year after the deal lapsed].

i have doubts about there being a brisbane team in the next expansion. if it was really in the pipeline for the next expansion then there would have been an official launch of a franchise bid by now would there not? also they would need 3-4 years to build a supporter base and do the ground work for a 2nd team there.

The Grand Final will be played at Suncorp Stadium 2 out of 3 years with the 3rd played at the MCG.

All in all this will strengthen RL in Sydney and NSW, esp Western Sydney to fight the scourge of the Western Sydney AFL franchise.

IMO - this looks like the NRL is really going places. But seriously, I have heard whispers that the NRL is closely looking at the A league model, where most clubs will be scraped and new licenses dealt out, with Sydney 4, Qld 1, Central Coast 1, WA 1, with 2 others to be offered to the best other 2 bids( could be PNG or SA or another Qld team, but none in Sydney)
All the new bids and prospective licenses will only got to bidders with sound Finacial backing and that they must not affliate themselves with any current NRL teams in Sydney.

Only teams guaranteed a place, Brisbane, Nth Qld, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Melbourne, New Zealand and Penrith.

They believe this is the only way to decrease the number of teams in Sydney and keep the majority of fans, as they will follow a new team but will not follow another current team if their team folds or is ejected.
