Quote: ECT "They did pre-war. In fact there's evidence that the England touring side of the 20s or 30s were the first team to wear chevrons. The Kangaroos started wearing the gold vees on the green jersey a few years later and 75 years on they still do. Meanwhile England/GB changes its jersey every second year and they always suck.'"
They have worn a red v a lot more recent than that.
I don't know the full details, but there used to be a framed shirt in one of my local pubs, as it was run by an ex-player.
I don't think it is right that we have a red v, as that is clearly a Saints thing.
I have no issue with the World Cup one or this (apart from the quality). If it was a team's club shirt, people would like it, but as it is an England shirt, and the responsibility of the RFL, I can't help but think that people enjoy criticising it.
Most GB shirts were decent, but the England shirt needs to be different, and there isn;t much you can do with just two colours. If this was an England RU shirt, I have no doubts that the Union fans wouldn't be slating it, and they have had some shockers.
