Why are RL shirts so expensive in Oz?

we pay $140 for them during the season which is very expensive

if you find them expensive in your currency imagine how we find them without the benefit of a 3:1 currency.

the nrl makes around $20 million profits from the sale of merchandise.

and thats only a small share of the total profits made.

Australian dollars are my currency ,the usual price you see an NRL jersey at is $169,which is very expensive,unless you are prepared to wear the cheaper versions from best and less or somewhere.

Wow! $169 is steep. my auntie got me and my brother official roosters and bulldogs jereys in Perth last year for around $70 each. she got them a week before the GF so maybe something to with end of season sale?

I wish, i got lasts seasons Roosters away jersey in january this year and it still cost me $90 and cheapest ive seen it lately is $80. Funny that some places are still trying to sell the England World Cup jersey for over $100

Rebel sports had a sale on at end of last season with tops for $99,they even had the Titans heritage jersey that i wanted,i ummed and aahed about buying it,and when i went back next day they had sold out,doh!

i havent bought one in years.

ive got my collection and theres no need to add to em.

Rebel sports sales are different from store to store. I got the Ireland World cup jersey for $70 at Bondi Junction Rebel and in the city it was till $150, even in the Parra the other day it was still $100.

im going to check the tags from the jersey, they are lying in a drawer in my house in belfast so i wont know until sunday.

Do NRL jerseys have good sales in australia compared to AFL merchandise etc.... despite the price?
