They did. He was short and then did a double movement. Because it was sent up as a try it was given. Same as their first , incorrect PTB but sent up as try it was given. We were awful last night but would still have won if we had got some of the 50/50 calls
Nah sorry. We didn't deserve that win. I didn't say we did Ok to rephrase, we didn't do enough to win.I didn't see a double movement and neither did the VR. It was certainly close but no reason why we should get the decision more than they should. The high tackles people are upset about weren't head shots but that isn't the rule. They were still around the neck which is against the rule and a penalty.

| I thought he’d lost the ball, I thought that live and I also think you could see a point where he lost it under the melee of bodies during the replays. However, the Ref sent it up as a try and there was insufficient evidence to overturn that decision so its was a try!
My contention is the refs making a call on an incident they haven’t seen clearly enough to make a decision and then the VR not being 100% free to call it as he determines it based on his replays. I think it’s time to get rid of that rule!

| Lets be honest here, the worst 40 minutes of the season so far, which is a shame with the quality of rugby we have been playing. In the cold light of day, a game we should have won, but didn't. (Cas should have beat us so we got that one) Players out of position, dropping the ball, soft pens and TJ missing cost us the game. Move on to Shudds and put it right. Up the Trin!

All academic really as I see it, as you say the worst 40 mins imaginable not helped by the referee on our part although I'm sure he reffed it properly in his mind and if the last try had been disallowed we were in no condition to go upfield for a golden point, as you say on to shudds for a bit of redemption.

| Just watched last Hull try and how he could have Sent it up as a try is baffling. If it had gone up as a no try it would not have been given You could not see the ball .Any body understand what happened with the vido challenge in the second half .I through it was our ball but the ref gave them a free kick..Not blaming ref for a very poor display ,But shows what damage a 50 /50 call can do

I think that Wakey challenged something, a call of a strip perhaps, which was overturned but in reviewing they spotted at high tackle so it was a successful challenge but still a penalty to Hull. That's just what I surmise happened but I was at the ground and haven't watched the game on TV so I may well be wrong.

If your on about Walmsley. Yes, the ref got the stripping penalty wrong. But Walmsley didn’t hit high I didn’t think. He didn’t hit the chin or head at all and his hand got players shoulder. If I recall the Hull crowd appeared to win that one. Much like the Cust one, that wasn’t high either. You see many arms round shoulders and across collar bone area etc as just regular tackles game in game out. If they were both high and there’s consistency we are back to that silly season where we were seeing countless high penalties last season that quickly got binned off. The thing that irks me is when an actual arm to side of face hits Rourke and the VR says clearly there’s head contact. He then says he got shoulder too so it’s ‘incidental’ and waves play on… I thought head contact with an arm was a straight penalty regardless. We saw what appeared imo the rules applied differently in the same game. Shouldn’t happen imo.

I was at the game as well ,enjoyed having the choice to stand up,but was nice to sit in the seat when I needed a rest With all the rails been on every row of seats made it a lot better for a old grumpy man like me to climb the steps to get the top . Got to give the fans credit they made plenty of noise .Were as the idea of taking of one shoe and waving it in the air come from .Got to admit enjoyed the night not disappointed at least we were in the game.Did sneak out with 2 minutes left ,no queuing in the car park got back home in about 45 mins

| Perhaps we should not be so hard on ourselves following our defeat and Hull. Sometimes you just have to give credit to the opposition. Hull have carried on from where they finished against us by demolishing Wigan in the first half. Sezer has been unplayable, the team have targeted Christian Wade who has had a nightmare first half for the Pies. Wigan we're losing against the Giants at HT last week before turning it round in the second half. I suspect their ability to win in the second half will be tested this afternoon against a rampant Hull side. My heart wants a Wigan win to keep us in the top six but my heart says that a Hull win is likely.
