Falou was never given clearance to play for Southport Tigers. The salary was $250 AUD which is no way more than what he could earn playing NRL.
His Catalan deal was $245k AUD
As of last month the QLD rugby League had not cleared him to play as Catalan hadn't given clearance and were asking for compensation or did I miss something?
Falou tried to argue his Catalan contract was no longer valid as Catalan had stopped paying him.
I'm court last month the QLD Rugby League QC challenged that and said Falou contract was valid and was due to expire Nov 21.
I think Falou knew there was no guarantee he would win the case and took the job in Japan as he still needs to earn a living.
