Maybe they should start from zero points in the super 8's or, grade the points from 8 - 1 .
After all, everyone starts "equal" in the middle 8's.

It would make the end of season games more exciting and still reward the sided that finish higher up the table.

dont think they need to do that, even top 5 play off, it would have all 8 teams still involved with a chance for a few more weeks
