You're correct there - and that is something Welsh RU and Rugby League have always had in common: both very much working class games played by hard men (part of the reason the old boy fraternity were so dead set against broken time payments imo), and a mutual dislike of the snotty-nosed old boy public school setup of English RU.
Which is also why I'm always surprised RL has never flourished in Wales, and has so much potential now (moreso with the Scorpions if you ask me). Tough men with a passion for the oval ball, and also explains why so many Welsh RU lads have done well at RL. It's a good match.
