Aren't there two stadiums at the Etihad complex now? Would be great to have all the clubs there as a full festival of rugby league.

Cannot see a magic weekend working at Championship level, they just dont have the fan bases for it, 12 clubs including possibly Bradford/Wakey and London will pull in around 6,000 to 8,000 fans in total IMO

Except you wouldn't have more fans there, and those you did have would be spread out over 6 games and 2 days, so average of around 1,200 ,but with some games at 5/600

The idea is fantastic,i just dont think championship rl is ready for a magic weekend at the moment which is reet sad.
They should focus "for now" on get 50 thousands through the gates on both days for SLs magic weekend
If the powers that be want to help the championship clubs,then they should start by unifying the rules across the leagues, IE,3 points,bonus point,overseas players etc

It could be doable john, but perhaps at a different venue, I'd suggest Batley, but with heavily subsidised transport and plenty of fun stuff going on within the stadium |

Will this be an 'extra' fixture like in SL? As in playing a certain side 3 times? Can't say i'd be keen on that in a promotion/relegation scenario. Fev v Fax for example as a local derby whilst Leigh play Swinton for another derby. Would create an imbalance at both ends of a very tightly contested league. I'd hope they just pick one round of the regular season and make it the 'magic' round.
