| I just knew after what Sam achieved with Souths and the intensity he had coped with - this was bound to happen;
From the BBC RU page (very quietly reported)
Mike Ford says "I know he probably feels he wants to make more of an impact but sometimes the games in rugby don't go that way."
Bath boss Ford revealed Burgess's frustration in second-placed Bath's 21-13 Premiership defeat by leaders Northampton.
He said: "It frustrates him a bit. The scrums frustrate him, the time the ball is out of play. He's standing around getting cold. He has to deal with all these things.
"The last two weeks we've had a plan to get Sam in the game from set-piece, and we've not delivered.
"He will have 20 carries in rugby league and here it is four or five."
Four or Five!!!
That's the nearest admission to what most on here already know that I can remember being published.
Just say it louder Sam lad.

| I hope he’s happy with the money. It’s the only reason he’s there. I’m not surprised he’s frustrated but I’m sure he must have expected this?
Union just doesn’t interest me. Like football it’s one of the most overhyped sports around. I can't see that changing by the odd article here and there about how Burgess is fed up with standing around doing nowt. The media circus won't rock the boat, too many veste interests.

Yep - agree with all of that.. On a side note - while you mention football...
The day Sky announced the 70% increase in what it contributes to the circus, I wrote a strong letter regards how they intend to meet that cost increase.
I made it clear if they tried to pass it on to me I would clear off. I did not expect a reply.
I got a reply today via email and they have dropped my subs to £36.50 per month for 6 months (Phone, Unlimited Broadband, Variety Pack, HD & Sports)
I recommend anyone else feeling the same about that deal - get writing!

| For heaven's sake can't they give him a thermal to wear?
He could take his phone out on the pitch and listen to some music whilst they have the scrum [and usual resultant penalty] or maybe contact his accountant - that should cheer him up a bit. I do feel some sympathy though. At one time I used to do piece work and after being made redundant, I got an hourly paid job and felt I was being a fraud, even though I was doing as much as anybody else - I guess there are similarities.
Just think of playing union as being retired Sam, we do...

| I went to a charidy dinner in York last year. I do a lot of work for charidy, when someone else is paying. It’s compared by John Bentley & always has a yawnion speaker but with a fiar bit of real rugby thrown in as well. Last year it was a former Bath & England winger, David somebody or other. He recounted the time he was playing for England at Twickers against Aus. It can’t have been a full international but it was a bit foggy & he was stuck out on the wing bored to death. His brother & a couple of friends walked onto the pitch with a fag & a pint of lager, which David proceeded to smoke & drink. Perhaps we could take turns taking on entertainment to Sam.

| Bad move? Not in terms of £-per-minute standing around. Plus, he gets to stand around a lot in front of some very big crowds in some "very important" games. And, whilst standing around, he gets a great view of a lot of kicks at goal being taken. Better still, people all over the world get to watch telecasts of him standing around. Might even get a few standing around medals, so it's all good.

| How many of us would decline if we were offered large amounts of money to do very little?

Ask tigertot. He got a big money move to Leeds and now leads a life of leisure from his Ilkley mansion.
