| There are only 8 rounds of the season to go, we're currently sat in 8th position with 9th and 10th only 1 point behind, being Cas and Wakey.
Remaining fixtures:
Bulls: Hull FC (H), Quins (A), Salford (H), Hull KR (A), Catalans (H), Saints (A), Wakey (H), Wigan (A).
Cas: Giants (H), Wire (A), Wakey (H), Crusaders (A), Hull KR (A), Leeds (H), Quins (H), Saints (A).
Wakey: Hull KR (H), Hull FC (H), Cas (A), Saints (H), Giants (A), Wire (H), Bulls (A), Salford (A).
Out of those remaining games, I can see us getting maybe 8 points at least.
I can see Cas picking up 6 or more, and Wakey getting 4 or more.
So unless someone else from beneath us has a good run (possibly crusaders, but unlikely given yesterday's showing) I think we will probably make the 8.

| There is a long way to go for every club in SL.
The biggest concern I have is the weakness in our defence. Earlier in the year I was beginning to regain some confidence in our goal line defence. But at the moment we simply cannot defend a set on our line, this needs to be rectified urgently.
A top 8 finish has to be the target, but realistically I can't see us doing much even if we make the 8. I think McNamara has some interesting decisions to make in the next few weeks.
Does he continue to blood Southernwood? Or go with the more experienced L'Estrange? I'm not knocking the young guy because he has let nobody down and I'm sure he'll be a great little player in a few years. But I think perhaps it is still a little too soon for SL for him. It must be tremendously difficult for a young half back to establish himself in the 1st team when the team as a whole are playing so poorly. So do we try win as many games as possible by taking the 'safer' option of L'Estrange at 7? Or let the guy learn his trade and hope he finds his feet before the end of the year?

| If we can beat Quins, Salford, Catalans & Wakefield then i'll be happy.
If we play to our best we can challebge in all our remaining games and the only extremely hard ones will be Hull, Wigan & Saints.
We can still do it imo, but we need a big push and a big lift performance wise.

| I have a funny feeling that the Bradford vs Wakefield game will end up on Sky Sports.

| Heart says yes, Head says no
Head says:-
Harlequins we should beat but Catalans & Crusaders are both starting to play well with players coming back from injury and Wakey will be a definate defeat if we approach that game with the same lack of commitment in defence as shown yesterday at the Jungle. (A good example was Chris Nero leaving 4' tall Dave Halley to try to outjump the 7' tall Castleford players on the two bombs in the final quarter which ultimately lost us that game - Chris Nero needed to take the responsibility in those situations, PS, I may be wrong about the height of the players involved!!!)
Heart says:-
Old Trafford here we come!!!
That's it then ~ Heart wins, the Bulls will make the playoffs!!!!

| This is where you need a man with a multi-dimensional spreadsheet who can factor in all the likely results of all our immediate competitors for the playoffs, many of whom in fact also play each other. What many seem to forget is that they can't ALL win ALL their games.
I started to try to do this in a very amateur way but haven't the time or the skill so gave up. Where's Adey when you need him?
But as far as I can see on a superficial view, we have at least as less hard a run in than any of them, and they will take points off each other, so we should do it with 3 or 4 points to spare.

Now then old mucker! I've been keeping an eye out for ya! Just an update on the over the hill finished jp(iyfso)! his latest stats for ya from the wire game, 30 degrees it was at pitch side.
Player: Metres - Carries (MT/Carry) - Tackles - Misses (Efficiency %) - Errors - Penalties
Peacock: 178 - 26 (6.85) - 37 - 2 (95%) - 1 - 1
I thought I would add moz' too as you said peacock was never the player moz is.
Morley: 119 - 14 (8.50) - 23 - 6 (79%) - 0 - 1
jp by plenty!
As for the thread, I said the bulls wouldn't make the playoffs at the start of the season and I'm gonna stick with it! All the best like.

| I didn't see the Cas game due to illness, so I can't comment on that performance. But judging from games before that, I'm struggling to see how we're going to pull out of the current predicament. I was pinning my hopes on the returns of Lynch & Langley, but that doesn't seem to have turned around the results, so my hope has disappeared out the window and is on it's way down the M62. Looking forward to next season now.
