Jason Demetriou has to be worth a look, the amount of comps he's won in his short coaching career is unbelievable. Plus he has good knowledge of the English game and the second string leagues in Australia where its most likely for us to recruit good players including a 7.

Does anyone actually read the T&A these days? I think Green is over-egging the pudding with the "sensationalism sells papers" line, it's hardly a celebrity threesome. A question that he refuses to answer though is why it's taken so long to find Lowes out and why he had to wait for him to hand the towel in? I'd be interested in reading that.

The T&A has had many, quite long, periods of sounding like a fan magazine as the paper and club 'cosy up' together, I can even remember a time when the T&A took Stu Duffy's news bits for the website and re-printed them word for word.

I can understand the cosying up, to be fair; the paper wants to be first with important news and therefore doesn't want to put noses out of joint and have the source dry up. But the paper also has a duty to be objective or it fails its readers. I appreciate that there has been what can best be called a 'cool relationship' between coach Lowes and Ross; it's been obvious in the video interviews, sadly it seems to have become a little less than professional.

Agree with that. But I think the frosty relationship between Lowes and Ross isn't limited to Ross. Jimmy seems to be like that with any media person daring to ask him any kind of question. I wouldn't say it's personal to the T&A or Ross, it's just that Jimmy clearly doesn't like talking to the media after games (if at all).

People can bag Ross all they like for negativity, but we've seen nothing but negativity on forums and social media from fans too, so I find it a bit hypocritical that people then call the media for the same. Fair enough on Hobbo on BCB when he's going into overdrive even when the Bulls are putting on some silky skills, but I don't think Ross is nearly that bad and is only saying what everyone else is saying/thinking.

As far as people like Ewwenorfolk calling him a bell end, well that's pathetic. I won't stoop to the same level of calling Ewwenorfolk what I think of him for that.

Well, with regards to Lowes walking away I just wonder if his "illness" was the same one Harris had before leaving Salford.

Reading my post back, it does sound as though I'm bagging Ross, but that's not really the case. I feel the antipathy, if that's the right word, is mutual, and for what it's worth, I'd guess you're correct about Jimmy 'not liking' the media stuff. Being media savvy [if not totally friendly [iis[/i very much part of the required package for a modern coach though.

A journalists' job is to sell newspapers. Pure and simple. I really fail to see what Green is getting at here. To me it seems like he is trying to deflect the blow from the problems at the club.

Also, he has a bloody cheek when he continues to employ a certain individual at the club who has a long history of being "economical with the truth".
