Jimmy was like this in his spell at Wire. He would argue and have confrontations with supporters as he walked off. This was my main concern when he was appointed. As a player he was fantastic. As a coach, I am not sure. At this moment in time I think he will be replaced when his contract ends unless we go up and improve massively. I could actually see him being replaced even if we go up. It would be a shame but his temperament is suspect.

Quote: j.c "Leigh fans are comfortable with the whole squad.

Worst case scenario is they use Reynoulds & Beswick in the half, bring foster in to hooker with Higham and put Pownall in at fullback and the team would still be a match for anyone in the league'"

If you put that team out against a full strength Bulls team then I'd be pretty confident of a Bulls win.

Thinking back over the season have we played a full strength team yet. Maybe that is to come.

Even with Sundays squad (pretty much worst case as per your description above),I still think we've got a good chance of beating Leigh.

All I'm saying is looking at the Leigh squad and their current form, then I think Leigh are entering this game as favourites but I'm certainly not writing off the Bulls chances. We've still got enough quality in the team to give Leigh a game. Let just see what the Bulls come up with on Sunday. It appears that Leigh fans think it's a foregone conclusion so the Bulls might surprise you.

I think you are wrong there ,I for one don't see it as a forgone conclusion , but as a very hard game ,BOTH teams will want to win , just look at the Squad Leigh have announced,I'm looking forward to a close hard game whatever the teams line up is.

From Jimmys comments in Telegraph and Argus it seems clear that it's no big deal and that preparation is focused on the middle eights.

Quote: Sensei-Bull "He's right, both games are dead rubber.

They're also dead rubber for Leigh who are sending a full strength team seemingly intent on proving a point.

What's the difference?'"

Rowley, but I don't think he's selected this team to prove a point to anyone other than to his own players, he often states its one game at a time, and that he selects a team to win that game. He will make changes for the next game but he's done that all season especially in the forwards, keeping competition and freshness in the squad, if you asked 10 Leythers to name their best pack you'd possibly get 10 different answers.

You must want to beat Leigh tomorrow though ,if only to put down a marker for the coming 8s games and make Leigh think about what you are capable of,nobody goes into a game thinking the result is not important.

I doubt the fans or Lowes go into any match not wanting to win, but it isn't really any bigger desire than any other league match. As I said after the 1st game of the season, all these league games count for very little individually. As long as we got enough wins to achieve top two then it was mission accomplished.

No disrespect to the other Championship clubs but I think most people would have bet their houses on a top two of Leigh and Bradford in any order. We haven't seen our players play to their potential for some time now but RL is a funny old game and that could all change on the back of a performance.

If this patched up side can run a strong Leigh side close or even snatch a hard fought victory it might be a bigger boost to the side than a full strength side winning a dead rubber match. I actually think the game next week versus Halifax could be the tougher of the two because they really do have a inferiority complex when it comes to the Bulls. They really are desperate to beat us after two losses so far this year.

The one thing about this Leigh team is we are usually very consistent, we play the way we do, and although I don't think that gives us the right to win, for me what it seems to do is put all the pressure onto how good the opposition can perform, in lots of games at times we've been second best but they've not been able to sustain their performance for long enough to win it, you can beat us, you are capable of doing so but your players will need to perform, and have a better attitude than Lowes seems to have unless he's trying to play mind games.

Strangely I would rather Leigh players think we will be a walk over next time. It's obvious to me that Lowes preparation has had a particular effect on the players.......not really that surprising. I think a lot may be put into the final match but not because it's Fax. It's all about timing as we have seen over the years......remember Lowes came from a successful Bulls era where nothing was left to chance.
I'm not sure he's right though.

I asked the owner when we drew Wire would we be sending a weakened team to avoid risking the 8's, the reply was that the team wanted to win every game and believed they could. It was the same last year when we drew Leeds away, there is a great belief within the camp at leigh and a huge spirit and trust in their team mates and owner.

Bulls have just reported that they've already sold over 7500 tickets. Due to ticket prices this year the Bulls also have plenty that pay on the gate. Should be a good attendance but a real shame that it's not the top spot decider. That would have added a few thousand more.

Yeah, Lowes came through in SL where it was only the play-offs that [ireally[/i mattered, and now this situation has been passed on to to the lower divisions in the form of the eights.

How it is approached is obviously going to vary between coaches, but the name, "business end", was coined for a reason, and it is used as a mantra by all the top coaches, as I'm sure Jimmy knows only too well. Putting players carrying knocks in the firing line for a game which has no actual bearing on the ultimate aim would be madness in the eyes of many. Like you, I'm not sure Jimmy has got it right [his apparent belief that A O'B is indestructible and doesn't feel pain, for instance, is quite beyond my comprehension, to be honest] but he is the coach, it's his decision and presumably he is taking the team with him, if we are to believe the stuff they are quoted as saying in the paper.

I still don't expect to win - how can we with no proper halves? Even the obvious subs are out, that said, I've seen bigger shocks.
