Thomas looked good against Leeds. Caprice could well be a gem and we have proven players in Campbell and Clare who can play FB aswell.

I hated Richie Mathers when he was a player, and it turned out he was a pr!ck off the field as well getting involved in betting scandals.
I cannot believe I'm going to have to sit and watch him in a Bulls shirt next season. I'm actually embarrassed that we've signed him.

To be fair, Mathers has always denied the betting allegations hasn't he? I know the ban stuck, which usually means there's something to it, but I'm pretty sure he's always refuted it.

Well I'm pretty pleased with the signing. I know he's getting on abit and not the fastest but he is an extremely experienced player and despite scoring ''THAT'' TRY at Magic Weekend few years ago I think he will be great for us.

Might mean Oscar plays 7 especially if Jacks doesn't get a contract.

To be fair to Mathers regarding the betting scandal, all he did was inform his mates at Wakefield that London were sending a young, weakened team to play at Leigh in the cup last season. Can't see much wrong with that to be honest

Never liked him at Leeds, thought he was a poor SL FB, then he got worse and retired...why do we now think he's better than other options already in the squad??? Thomas and Campbell would be preferable or a loan signing of some other hot shot young FB from a SL club looking to get some game time.

Waste of cap space given that we still dont have a scrum half on the books. Shocking squad recruitment at times over the past year.

I'm hoping Thomas takes his opportunity and keeps the spot.

Richie Mathers has not played for nearly a year, so I would not expect too much from him. Probably on a decent wage too.

Disappointed... But I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and support him on the field. Atleast Marc Green is putting the money in rather than all this talk about scaling back and going part time.

Mathers does raise eyebrows but not for the right reasons but he doesnt have to be a world beater for the opening 23 rounds. He should have bag loads of experience to pass on to our young team.

On the bright side, with Adam Henry leaving last year, we have filled our quota of scape goat by signing Mathers so we already know who to focus our blame on

Its a strange signing; certainly more of a head-shaker than a head-turner, and although it doesn't weaken the team it does seem to be a waste of cap-money for a position we have lots of players covering already.

Maybe during his enforced hiatus he has become a world beating half-back?
