Looking at the comments on social media I think a large proportion of them were under the impression that new owners would take over and things would just carry on as before. All be it starting on minus 12 points but without the debt of the previous club.

However, the fact is that income is much lower than that club and we currently have no coach or players signed up.

I think as reality bites people are a bit shocked. You only have to look at all the garbage posted on social media when it was the referendum last year. People post stuff on Facebook etc without thinking. Whereas if they said it in real life they'd think about it first.

It's probably going to get worse before it gets better but there are always consequences when things like this happen. Even if fans of other clubs don't accept that losing all your players, including academy prospects, is not a massive disadvantage.

Sick at losing Rohan,but let's give Henry Paul a crack before dismissing him,he's got plenty of class to pass down imo.

I doubt that Henry has any better cv than Jimmy, now if was ex A B's coach Graham Henry that would indeed be jaw dropping and he is a very experienced Coach!
If they are serious then I expect one of the fringe NRL coaches who are between jobs at present, but we have to wait and see and let the rumours do the rounds!

After so much uncertainty it would be nice to know where we are at..

But wait and see, it would be nice to enjoy watching the team play instead of been disappointed.

Don't forget the fev game the worst I've ever seen that cost us £500k.

I was chatting to the misses about this last night. I made the point that if two parties working together don't have a vision that's aligned with one another, then there is no possible working relationship. Without a good relationship between the coach and the board, the club can't progress. So the statement seems to me like this was the case. I'm sad to see Rohan go - seemed like a sound bloke to me - but if he can't make music with Lowe and Chalmers, then there's no point keeping him on. Best of luck to Rohan - someone said on this thread earlier that he will probably pop up somewhere in the future; I have no doubt that is the case.

Henry Paul was arguably the best player in SL but he seems to lack the humility & good grace of his brother. Not for me.

Henry Paul has more first team coaching experience than Rohan Smith did coming into this job? Plus he also may have contacts from all over (League, Union, NZ, Russia, etc) So who knows. Will be on a lot less than Rohan too. So even if we are all a bit vexed at Rohan being let go it may have been done for the benefit of the club moving forward. Let's give Henry (should he get the job) a chance.

HP could have the contacts of Wayne Bennett but it doesn't mean he can coach them. One of the things a number of posters commented on, & I witnessed at a quiz night, was the calibre of young athletes Smith was bringing to the club & their mature, humble attitude. You won't get that from a playboy.

I must have missed something. Where did the Henry Paul link originate? And how does it match up with the owners press release wanting a proven and experienced coach?

Is this just another example of a rumour being passed off as news and then reported as sources say?
