| Ironically, I thought Henry had his best game I can remember yesterday, but I still suspect he'll be the one to make way for Dane Neilson. Oh what joy to have such problems!

| Henry and Purtell have very different styles. Henry gets the ball and runs like a man on hot coals whereas Purtell has some slick hands and creates space for his winger. It depends what you want out of a centre. I think Purtell is a class above Henry but some people seem to judge players on how hard and fast they run. Nice problem to have indeed but it's also a possibility that they are both better than Nielsen.

Aye, and Eddie is hinting at it too. And, as we all know:

Absolutely. As far as anyone was concerned, this was a must-win and I am sure that it had been pencilled in as a nailed-on two points.
It was a "hiding to nothing game". Win, and we were expected to, lose and the season could pretty much have been over.
Obviously I did not see the game but the views on here are encouraging. At least I will see us v Wakefield next weekend then I am down for the home game v Salford in a fortnight.

| Massive game next week and already I'm nervous about it. It's the indicator as to exactly where we are as a team and could be season defining. I'm more nervous about it than any of the finals that I've seen the Bulls play in.

| It is an important game next week. However we do have 2 home games against SL opposition and they should be equally telling. We should have a good idea of where we are that when we complete that and losing at Wakey is not season defining. Who would have thought Fax would get so close to Widnes

| I thought Purtell looked a bit off yesterday, he gave a slick pass for one of Williams' tries but he was caught flying out of the line for the Taulapapa try, dropping off a couple of grab tackles and seemed to make little ground with the ball in hand constantly stopping or stepping inside.
A T&A article the other week with Henry said he's been told to reign in the reckless offloading so Clare was kept a little quite when he was on the wing, but Adam was found out a couple of times defensively again, but then so would anyone against Yere. Blythe and Ryan were caught out badly for the final Yere try. That's very sloppy and Matty Blythe seems to have really struggled after being on the back foot since his comeback.
Danny Addy is nailed on for scrum half all year whether rightly or wrongly if up for discussion but he's playing quite well overall but he was good yesterday, he's a Jimmy favourite and has the key element of being settled there. Plus he'd never shift Pitts from loose forward, nor should he.

| Perhaps not season defining in the terms of league mathematics but if we are to progress then we could do with getting a result against the apparent worst SL team. To have a real chance of promotion, we need to be taking points from our direct competition for 3rd, 4th and 5th otherwise it will be tough.

Addy is nailed on for scrum half, probably for the entire play off.
Has anybody heard if Ryan's hand injury is a concern? He looked to be in quite a bit of discomfort towards the end. It looked like it could have been a thumb/finger dislocation but not heard anything.

Agree it isn't season defining as we have two very winnable games straight after. But if we beat Wakefield next week I just cannot see them recovering. We would be 4 points clear of one of our main rivals and i cannot see where their next win would come from. Also the damage it would do to them psychologically. It''s the old "4 pointer"

| I don't see Widnes at home as 'very winnable' and I'd say we're underdogs against Salford. I agree with Sensie, next week is pivotal.

Not saying w'ere favourites, but i firmly believe we'll be in with a shout in both those games. Widnes's struggles on grass were evident again yesterday (Taking nothing away from Fax)
Also no one has any idea which Salford side will turn up.

| Well they all count for 2 points at the end of the day but we're probably going to be fighting for 3/4/5 spots with the likes of Wakefield so a win would be massive. Make no mistake, Wakefield will be fighting for their lives on Sat and we'll have to be very good to get another win. We have enough quality in our side to get the job done though, so the players should be confident.

Certainty is. Also, if Leigh lose to Salford and Wakefield lose to us, they'll both be on 0 points and they play [ieach other[/i next week. It's a long way back for the loser of that one if results go our way.
Saturday is probably more important for Wakefield than us and there'll be more pressure on them. If they lose, their chances at finishing top 3 are all but gone IMO. If we lose, we still have the Halifax game, and 2 home games against a very unpredictable Salford and a Widnes team hardly comfortable on grass. Not saying they'll be easy games, but I think we have a good chance. I think we're very capable of winning at Leigh too.

Tend to agree with this.
This it's important to play our game and be competitive. Though they finished bottom, they have improved and are at home.
A solid performance to build confidence and take in to the rest of the comp is all I'm looking at - a win would be a massive boost (and certainly not beyond us)
