Just checked and it appears we have 1 player from Bradford in Nathan Conroy. Of the regular first teamers, Danny Addy, Tom Olbison, James Donaldson and Adam O'Brien have come through our academy system. [sizeI'm going to keep quiet about the exact number of academy players in our 25 man squad just in case the RFL still have rules for this sort of thing.[/size

| Quote: raceman "Well said. And if I remember correctly didn't one of our best players move to Bradford, Brandon Costin, when we were relegated? Although he came back when we were promoted again. Eorl stayed with us and I think you'll find it's more likely to be the local players who will stay and play to get their hometown club back up. How many of your current squad are from Bradford?'"
Costin wasn't illegally poached though and neither was he a Huddersfield junior [do you have an academy set up of your own, you do seem to get a lot of ours..]

You can see what its like with your fanbase getting less and less week after week. Imagine that going on for 4 seasons!! Relegation was the best thing that ever happened to us back then as every Giants fan will tell you. Dont try kid yourselves that the RFL did us any favours in keeping us in SL. We had to build again after getting promotion and the fanbase is gradually getting better.'"
Think that may be fair comment FP, though, of course, there was a way back in those days.
As things stand now, I'd guess the way back up is going to be blocked for some time as I don't seriously think anyone from the lower divisions is going to break through the current [as of next year] glass ceiling. To come in the top four of an 8 team mini league which contains four fully professional teams, on a much higher cap, honed by playing in a higher standard competition is going to be a mighty big ask for a team of largely part-timers. It might be manged in a one-off cup game [and that's a rarity as it is] but in a league format you're pretty much asking the impossible.

| There's no detail yet.
Will the championship salary cap be increased? Or a floating charge of 50% of income?
The relegated SL clubs will have parachute payments for the first time ever.
Will SL loan players be allowed in the mini-league?
What about if they've been loaned since the start of the season?
Quota players?
Assuming that the SL clubs won't have to fit championship salary cap restrictions just for the minileague, logically the championship clubs will be allowed up to the SL cap for that 7 weeks (8 clubs, play each other once).
How will that work?
Where will they get the players from?

| I'm sure the RFL will look at it....
After our appeal, of course.

| NOW it's unfair?! Was it unfair when you were cheating your way into winning silverware and we got to play you three times? Don't remember any calls of unfair back then.

Wood, conroy, brooks,Mellor, bates and Roberts count towards total too. Thing to remember is there's a lot of lower numbers missing in our squad eg 6, 8 and 10 due to late departures of sammut, scruton and Carvell. Don't think loan players count on 25 man squad either.

Even more painful given they still haven't won anything of note despite the millions Davy must now have put into the club to fund the side.

| I think the ratio is that for every sensible flying prop that comes over there's a further three flying cocks.
