| Some girlyball team seems to have a manager who's been here about 3 years yet can't speak a word of English. They should call discrimination.

I think the majority are EU nationals anyway so it isn't relevant, also if they have strong working credentials ie. have performed at the highest level, that would probably also overrule any of the minor details like speaking English - it's hardly going to rule them out of a job when they have been specifically invited here to take up a contract.

| Yh I suppose so, just abit of a pain, also I'm sure the tax the will end up paying will grease the wheels also.
Hope it pulls off and he does get here would be interesting to see him go, didn't disgrace himself during the WC.

| Paul Wood out for the first month of the season but Evans not been given a squad number at Wire despite only naming a squad of 24. Seems odd.

| I'm not entirely sure where it was but the other week someone got a bit worried when Carvell tweeted about training in Liverpool, Donaldson tweeted today the same and it's high altitude training.
As if Odsal in January wasn't enough!

| Also, can someone prod Ross at the T&A to talk to Dale Ferguson?!
He's probably the player I'm most looking forward to seeing next season and even I forget we signed him at times.

Kearney to miss first few games after all. not worth rushing him back in a position where our cover is actually pretty good. Decision now is who plays FB til he's back. choice of Kear,Foster,Gaskell or sammut. Think I'd go for Gaskell. No point disrupting rest of team when hes available and he looked solid enough their last week.

Yet again we have a player nursing a known injury over winter. As soon as training starts realises op needed and misses start of season. See my posts this time last season. Fully accept am not a Doctor but this keeps happening to our small squad and thus we start with less players than if op done at season end.Frustrating.

| It does say in the article that they gave it the off season to settle down but at the end of the first week back it was decided to do something. They started pre-season on the 5th November - 3 months ago.
If he had the operation then - just before he went home for Christmas, it seems a decent timeline for recovery. It reads as if he HASN'T just had it done. If it was done in November then that seems reasonable to me. The must have had medical advice to give it the off season to heal itself. I agree though it is a shame to lose him at the start but I am used to it with Kearney as he has always been injury prone. Gaskell for me at fullback.

| Wonder if the club had done anything, training wise and medical wise with him, but as he went to aus until fairly recently bet they haven't had chance.

he had the surgery before christmas. Club let him stay in OZ longer than usual to recuperate from the surgery. Sounds like they left it for period between our seaon ending and start of pre-season to see if it would heal on its own then sent him for surgery as soon as it was apparent it was still an issue. Think its pretty standard practice, from a medical point of view, to try and avoid surgery wherever possible.
