You answered it yourself. Inconsistant. Doesn't change the validity of todays call though.

It doesn't, but it's the point people like debaser are trying to make. It's a reckless shot, albeit definitely not deliberate. Resulted in a red card, does that mean every other shot is going to see the same result? I doubt it.

| Disappointed with the result, but not with the heart, soul and passion that the lads all showed today.
Yes, the Raynor sending off was a low point, however I can't believe that he was intending to cause any injury. It was simply a mis-timed tackle. Yellow card and on report would have been enough, the red card was over kill. It also shows the inconsistency of the ref when O'Loughlin's grab at the face went by without any more than a penalty.
I hope that we can back today's performance up next week against Salford.

Erm, plenty. Open your eyes when you watch a game next time.

Right, got it now. It's a red if it's on one of your players scoring a try but not it it's on anyone else at any other time. Thanks for clearing it up.
As for dealing with it - I am dealing with it a lot better than the Wigan fans at the end still having ago about the "f***ing cheating scum". You got the red card, what more do you want?

| Potter believes it was harsh, and is going to take it up with Rot Hall.
From the Sporting Life reportThe former Great Britain international appeared to be aiming to dislodge the ball from Tomkins' grasp but referee Steve Ganson decided there was intent to harm the player, although he opted not to award an additional penalty.
Potter believes the dismissal was harsh and intends to raise the matter with the Rugby Football League's director of referees Stuart Cummings.
"I'll go through the appropriate channels," he said. "I thought he was trying to stop the try.
"It was without a doubt the turning point, that was plain to see. Twelve v 13 in the second half was tough. It wasn't impossible but it was tougher than it would normally be."[/i

| Great effort from the lads, good line speed and aggression in defence and despite too many errors we actually played some rugby. Briggs and BJ started to gel and give Ah Van a pass now and again he'll score his fair share. On the sending off I thought the fact that Tomkins was on his way down should have saved Raynor. When he connected he was at the same level as the ball and it was an attempt he had to make. Very harsh. And finally, a kicking game. Beat Salford and the Quins and we're back from the dead!
COYB!!!!

| Just got back. Despite being on the wrong end of the result the team performance was probably the best of the season. No complaints there. I'm gutted at the result but that's the way it turns out. To lose by 4 points with 12 men for the majority of the game when no-one game us a hope...it was just so pleasing to see the team do themselves credit.
It would be nice to see the opposition fans win with a bit more magnanimity though. I started listing various encounters but...perhaps we just bumped into the wrong Wigan fans today. I hope so. Debaser already described one. It's a sad state of affairs if they were representative of the whole.

23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |

Good to see King Warrior knows far more than the journalist writing the match report.

Well I know that if I was going in to try and knock the ball out of a tackle I would go in with a flat hand to slap the ball. Then scratch its eyes out.

Oh I'm admitting it was red alright but you appear to be inserting malicious intent into the mix which I completely disagree with.
