Can I just suggest - again - people think about when the order for the initial shirts shipment will have had to have been placed? perhaps using a possible scenarioBulls agree requirements with Kooga.

Put some timelines on each of those steps (I may have missed a few out).

I reckon the bare MINIMUM time you would need between order and availability in store would be at least two months. They will be over a month on the water. Say more like about ten weeks minimum. In that case, the club would have had to agree requirements with Kooga by around mid-September.

Now then, cast your minds back to mid-September. the pledge campaign launched on 23/8. the deadline was 4/10. We were about halfway through. At that point, IIRC, the momentum appeared to have stalled a bit and it was far from certain the target would be achieved. And if it was NOT achieved, how many season ticket holders would we have been looking forward to? Not 10,000. 5,000?? Any ideas?

And yet, on my scenario, the club would have had to make the decision on how many to order - and what range of sizes - at precisely that point of major uncertainty.

This is only a potential scenario. But I suggest a plausible one? And, on that scenario, would people still think the club had no excuses and were "amateurish" if they did not get the order quantities fairly close? Or if the club chose a path of prudence given the uncertainty? And, if so, how would they support that argument?


The above is only a scenario - I have no idea at present what the actual course of events and timelines were. And the caveat of course is that if the lead time was significantly shorter than I have theorised - e.g the stock was manufactured much nearer the UK or was (surely not?) airfreighted - then the argument becomes weaker.

i e-mailed them last week telling them my concerns and everything else to go with it. I have not as yet had anything back from them.

didnt have a rant in any way. i just put that i was banking on ordering an away shirt in size medium and wasnt happy that i had to wait 6 weeks or longer.
i then just asked what the rough date was that there would be anyore in stock because when i rung the shop there was a female in there and she didnt have a clue due to her covering the shop in the managers absence.

With a Fans Forum next wednesday, this could be the opportunity for those upset at the lack of stock to get some answers perhaps?

Just been to Odsal to invest in 2 x " Basic Black" 5 year season tickets and popped into the shop. What a change since I went about a month ago; lots of new gear, very eye catching stuff. Some of the items they've got are not on the Bulls Website (eg new design Beanie Hats) so its essential that you visit to look around ; the very friendly manager will be happy to help you to choose what you need I am sure.

think the club might just be leading people on. just phoned to get an update on the away shirts and i have now been told it will be at least april even though i got told it would be 6 weeks, which was about 4 weeks ago

The club had to place the initial order in JULY. Pre-pledge. had to base on LAST year uptake cos at that stage nothing else to base on, no pledge in mind and internal changes were anyway only just in progress. They had to commit to quantity tehn even though design not agreed.

I gather it was all pretty well as I suggested, otehr than the deadline was even earlier than I thought.

Why no ladies' shirts this year? Last year they sold a couple of DOZEN. Ordered 200 and were left with nearly all to job off at end of season for £10.
