| What else can GH say at this point?
They'll survive in SL thanks to London being so poor (seriously, where have they spent their central funding?!) but the squad is just not good enough for anything above a 7th or 6th place finish at best, so it could take a while before they are back challenging for silverware.
The transition from the golden generation was always going to be tough, but to say that they've made some poor decisions along the way would be an understatement.

| That transition was always going to be difficult. It was the same for us after 2005.

Yes, it's likely to be a long old haul back to the top of superleague. Pity they'll likely miss the drop. I really do enjoy Leeds Bradford derbies above everything else!

| I don't think they're anywhere close to the mess we got into though. They still have a good youth setup and strong financially. They've just made some bad recruitment and coaching appointments. Luckily they've got some good young players who with a few good signings will steady the ship. This year will be painful but they've got enough quality to stay up.

How many of our GF 2005 squad did we lose in the off season and early into the next though?

Peacock
Radford
Reardon
Pryce
Parker
Fielden

Noble
Our squad dynamics changed rapidly, Leeds have had ample time to plan, their plans of keeping all until retirement seemingly has left them short of character.

| They certainly appear to be financially sound, with well connected backers. That's something we've missed since Caisley's days. Makes the re-building process all the easier for them. Still, let's make the most of their plight, no matter how short lived!

| Congratulations on the win.
Honestly didn't give you guys a chance. This year is your first year back in the champ and you were always gunna find it a challenge to go up against the likes of Toronto, Widnes, Toulouse even York as well who you've had some belting games with. And on paper Leeds put out a very capable 17 with plenty of experience and pedigree, whilst they've been off colour this year they can still be very dangerous. But the old saying that the game ain't played on paper. Was nice to see a few old Cas boys who didn't get much game time do a solid job like Steve crossley and James green, but I'll always have a soft spot for Jake Webster who is a fantastic player to have in the championship as long as he's used sensibly and that seems to be how kear is using him, the old bull eh.

| I didn’t really give us a chance before the game but was struck with how much we raised our game in an attacking sense. I was also struck by how poor Leeds were. We’ve played a few sides already in the Championship that are better than they were. Their goal line defence was abysmal and in attack it was all headless chicken stuff.
Our whole 17 played well but I think some mentions should go to the forwards, in particular Crossley, Kirk and Green up front who really put in a shift and made metres for fun at times. I also thought Farrell and Wood stood out too. Although Jordan Lilley got the man of the match award I thought Rowan Milnes was more influential with three assists and 100% with the goalkicks. He was making breaks in the second half too and really seemed to grow in confidence. We’ve got a good un there.

I honestly think winning the SL in 2005 ultimately contributed to our woes.
The damage occurred at the end of 2003 when we lost Lowes, Gartner, Forshaw etc.
Like Leeds winning in 2017, it only papered over the cracks and gave us the false sense that we were Bradford and were invincible...
But never mind... Saturday eh???? a reminder of what was and could be again if Chalmers keeps his sensible head on

| Do we have any ideas when the various TV channels will announce their dates and fixtures.

| I'd been hoping that there might have been a total mess-up with the microphones and that the Beeb would have got Mick's measured commentary and dulcet tones instead of their rather more laid back, and not to say sedate, BBC one.... When things are going well Mick is infectious! Defo going to watch the Bulls TV version.
