| We're fans, our opinions aren't worth the cyberspace they're printed on. It's agents and clubs who seem to rate players, not us - we just take our cue from them.

SL but bottom half, say 8th, 9th or 10th.

| Pryce when fit is a top 8 SL halfback, so if your opinion of Gaskell is correct you are getting an upgrade, keeping him fit is the major problem, although hasn't Gaskell has his fair share of injury problems?

Only my opinion.
As a direct swap fro Pryce it would be hard to say who would get the better deal. Pryce isn't going to get any younger but Gaskells injuries were usually caused by him having to do work that he wouldn't normally be expected to do in a SL side. One major injury was caused by a back elbow to the face by a prop forward and one by a last ditch tackle where he cracked himself against the post.

| A straight swap now gaskell for leon wpuld be a downgrade Imo. Gaskell out for leon and a decent 7 would be an overall upgrade. Like rreddog says gaskells injuries have mainly been impact injuries whereas leons you suspect are more due to age and it wont be any easier for him to have a full season next year. Whatever happens I would like to see leon in a bulls shirt again but I'm more and more p!ssed off about our lack of a scrum half.

It was a bit tongue in cheek to be honest, think Pryce would be a good short term signing for you for a year, haven't seen enough of Gaskell to say if he is good enough for a too 4 SL side, which is what we are aiming for and should achieve this year. We have Sneyd who had been outstanding in recent weeks, but needs a half with him, someone with pace and can back up would be ideal as we make loads of breaks, but with the exception of Shaul we rarely finish them off.

Id say Gaskell would be a very very good fit for you alongside Sneyd, and to be fair I don't think there would be any Bulls fan begrudge Gaskell going to a top half super league side next year, hes shown good loyalty playing for us in the Championship but he should be playing super league. We just need him to see out this year with us for us to have a shot in the middle 8's. Leon could come home now though and play 7 alongside Gaskell for the rest of the season and we'd have the tallest half back pairing in the history of RL.

With ease.
Playing alongside a half back that can put him in some space or with one to beat, he will either go through, beat the defender or make some space for those outside him.
He'd into any super league side imo.
He isn't the type to direct play though, so if your looking to play him on one side of the field and your 7 on the other then you'll be disappointed. He's a traditional stand off and nothing else imo.

| Gaskell is class, and would do the business in any SL team. Pryce is waaaay short of SL standard any more, he'd do OK in the Championship in a side where he didn't have to graft or do any more than his occasional cameos. He's not going to get anybody promotion but much less in a team with no scrum half. I already am resigned to promotion being a hopeless case this year, and Pryce for Gaskell is like a Porsche for a venerable Granada. And would confirm settling for part time Championship mediocrity. Which is where we are headed

You are wrong about Pryce, I've watched him in every game for Hull since he signed and is still a SL quality halfback, when fit still good enough for a team currently in the top four of SL. We really missed him went he was out for a few games. Just too bad knocks these days.

| Playing behind that Hull pack alongside Sneyd with the likes of Shaul in the backline running off him is a different world to what he’d experience with us. I wouldn’t like to think how Pryce would go behind our pack (minus our better frontrowers who might be tempted to leave) with Oscar Thomas as his halfback partner. I can see him not fancying it much at Batley in February. He never was one to dig deep when we were in the mire.
If we were to sign Pryce in place of Gaskell we’d better sign a very decent scrum half or watch season ticket sales dry up.

| I think Gaskell would be a really good fit for Hull. Sneyd doesn't need anyone alongside him to help pull the strings, he can control a game on his own. What we need is someone who can get on the shoulders of the big men and turn those half breaks and chances into points. Shaul aside we still aren't quite clinical enough in attack, and someone like Gaskell would go a long way to sorting that.
On the flip side, I do think Pryce still has alot to offer, but from what I've seen and read of you this year he'd be something of a square peg unless you put an organising 7 alongside him.
