Maybe he should be the defence coach then.
We certainly need one.
Whenever I see St Hilaire he does this then turns to the coaches box and does

And that exactly why I responded with the quote below earlier, as I have yet to meet anyone who can tell me what exactly his role is .... Other than Assistant Coach!
Whether he is or isn't is a moot point, but I guess both he and FC have to take some if not all responsibility for the points mentioned in lots of posts above.
It is a fine line between blaming the players or the coaching team for such an abject performance .... Maybe we need a root and branch review?

| Bewareshadows comments on the game are spot on. And I agree with most of FA's views on the game.
Plenty of effort early on but daft mistakes in the back end of the first half left us with little hope at half time.
When I heard the team's announced I felt we were in for a long afternoon. I looked at the squad's printed on the back page of the programme -- 37 names in the Saints squad of which at least 30 would walk into our starting 17.
It's well documented that we have the smallest squad in the league. Today that was supplemented by 3 loan players with at most 2 weeks training with the team.
We were missing BK and Gale from the key back positions,Ferguson Donaldson and Blythe in the back row,Fakir and Manu at prop. Which of them would not be in our first choice 17?
Saints forwards played as a pack -- ours were individuals. Both Saints half backs plus Wilkins and Roby completely controlled the play.
So we lost to the team in second place-- that's hardly a surprise. The worry for all of us should be that any confidence the team has gained in the past 2 games has been dissipated.

| I know as fans we all want to be competitive, but at this time. The Bulls should not take this as a knock to confidence. Last week was a very good win. the Bulls may very well be better keeping their best for London, Wakey, Salford, basically the bottom 8 as if you are going to win 16 points. They are the 8 games that will do it an anyone else is a bonus.
Brush off today as a a bad day at the office. May is going to be a hell uv a tough month, June is where the season will really tell for Bradford. Along with any points regained. 3 out of 4 games in June, will allow you to get back in the race. It's not a given, but if you can get close, your last 2 games of the year could be the difference between staying up and going down.
Pick up 3 wins in June and someone will be looking over their shoulders. Not sure who yet.

His role under Potter was to do the video reviews.

That's a different point to what you were making at first. Your original post was LS was responsible for the defence which he isn't.

| Weather you like it or not LSH has been here a very long time and in that time we have not performed on the pitch despite having different head coaches, so you can't tell me the poor performances on the pitch are nothing to do with him its all the head coach's problem!

| Why did we start with a rookie on the wing and leave an experienced SL winger on the bench for 60 mins. Why did we have a rookie on the bench and use him for at best in two 5 mins stretches on the field? Who is the coach looking after youngsters or the older experienced players?
Too many players looked disinterested and most of them looked far below SL standard. When we are relegated who is going to sign them, the ones of SL standard have already been signed ie.Scruton, Carvell,Sammut and Bateman.
It's so frustrating after the previous two performances.

| I might be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure that when George came on he was actually playing in the second row!
Which, if true, sort of sums up our injury/small squad crisis perfectly.

Problem is, it's not the first "bad day at the office" we have had. Hudds, Saints, Wigan, Leeds, Hull have all put 40+ past us. Salford, KR, Widnes we have already lost to.
We're so many points behind we have to beat some of the big boys as well as the teams around us to stand a chance. Problems is, the teams around us, will also see us as must win game if they want to get in the play-offs. We just seem to be getting massive scores out past us too easily. No steel to the side. The last two results were out of the norm for what has happened this season. Even our victories against Wakey and London were because the opposition played so poor. Hardly vintage performances from ourselves. The games against Catalans and Warrington came after Ferres had to apologise to the fans because things had got so bad.
Agree about with Zapper about St Hilaire, he's not to blame, but he's been there and performances have got worse and worse. Time for someone fresh. Someone who has the bulls spirit, a Henry Paul, Stuart Fielden etc Something has to change though.

| George played Left side 2nd row. Foster was ill but still went out there.
I think at one point our 13 guys on the pitch were 1 hooker, 1 prop, 3x2nd row men, 4 centres, 3 wingers and a stand off.

Thats a bit like when we got rid of Basil Richards at the end of 2009 that was going to cure all our ills remind me again how 2010 went.
You could have Wayne Bennett as assistant coach if the top man won't listen nothing he can do.
