All clubs? even those that arent allowed to compete in super league despite them running to a budget? Bulls tried to over spend and come unstuck. clubs have made sacrifices for you only recently, just seems a bit much asking them to do it again.

Incidentally am I right in thinking that an event was planned last night at Odsal? If I am did it go ahead and did any of the team turn up?'"
Yes, it was the carol singing last night, and yes some of the players were certainly there judging by their twitter activity.
The 'lancashire bus' players also recently had a night out in Leeds where they were all wearing cheesy xmas sweaters, some pretty comical photos on twitter of them all!
Despite all the depressing news of late, I am surprised (and pleased) by just how high morale seems to be amongst the squad.

I'm presuming you are a Widnes fan, in which case I reckon all Bulls fans will be grateful to your Chairman
But come on,bailed out by the other clubs? Bailed out that much, all the other Super League clubs gained 100 grand out of us.I can't wait to bail somebody out if that's how much you get for doing it

£10 if bought in advance £16 on the gate might be a better way'"
From Facebook:
Tickets are now on sale for the Bulls' first pre-season friendly against Hull FC.
The tie is scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 19 (kick-off 3pm).
Tickets are priced at £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and £5 for juniors, while under-12s go free.

Seem to remember when they last had a friendly at odsal they did this. Initially only open stand to keep costs down. Would imagine they'll open part of away end if stand sells out. Given likely weather at time of friendly minimizes amount of snow/ice they have to clear off terraces and keeps costs down.

I certainly seem to remember being sat in there for the Halifax friendly (not sure if that was the last one).

| Quote: mat "I'd imagine money raised from season tickets won't last til season starts TBH. 5k tickets at £200 average price less 20% vat brings in 800k. October and November wage bills, 160k+, will have already come out of that amount with December and January wages to pay before season starts. While it's fair to say the 400k needs to saved over full season, the cash flow is likely to be a bigger problem.'" if I implied the next few months would be easy, that was not the intention, rather to say that even though at present there must be cash in the bank, they are not wasting a second but pushing on with whatever they can do to save cash, no heads in the sand -so i think we agree

"Worth"? What "worth"? The office is open, the staff are there anyway, so there is zero cost whenever you start to sell them. Why would you not? It's just that there are never many at the friendlies, and I'd hazard a guess that most will pay on the day, if there's no discount for early birds.

It's hazarding a guess as to future attendances that's at least partially responsible for mess we're in. Your right that there's no cost to the club in selling the tickets early. What it 'worth' to the club is it's guaranteed income now, rather than potential income a month down the line. Decisions are being made now about where cuts can be made. Every little bit of income club can generate now could potentially mean difference between a playe pr member of staff being retained or let go. Likewise why the heritage shirts are such a good idea. Another way for club to get money into the coffers at short notice.

how so?
You're laying people off and asking players to take pay cuts. I'd still (currently) rather be in the position of a Bradford Bulls fan than a London Broncos one, but your comment above points to a very long river in Egypt FA....

Well as they've been saying that job cuts are coming, the announcements of job cuts ISN'T news.
