| Getting sick of us not turning up.
Losing confidence in FC's ability to sort the problems out.
Same stuff each week, don't know how Walker and Diskin are getting in the side every week. Hope that new deal walker was close to has been put on hold.
Where was Bateman today?

Most of them are turning up and working their balls off.
Scruton, Langley, Evans, Fairbank is all that needs to be said. Foster has just come back from injury. Walker and Diskin are shot but we have a colossal deficit of physically mature players who are big enough. The defence is not about attitude, it is about physical fatigue.
I was far from convinced by Cummin's appointment but in a weird way today confirmed I was wrong. With the pack and bench we were able to put out, plus the players missing we never gave up. That has not always been the case.
I know it didn't look that way but with 50% Sky money scandal there's a lot more going right than wrong with this group and this coach.

| I know Purtell has had an astonishingly tough time, but I'm not sure what he offers at the moment, nor Olbison. Foster doesn't seem to be able or willing to tackle and our team spirit, so evident last year, seems to have deserted us.
However, I do think Addy played better than Gale has, we obviously miss Manese and our forwards are clearly not good enough without him. Diskin is a complete waste of space, he's so slow now that he doesn't even need the comparison with the likes of Lunt for everyone to spot he's pedestrian. To play that poorly on such a big stage is embarrassing, only a couple of players come out with any respect one being Kear.
I imagine we have to hope the teams below us continue to blow their opportunities.

Are you suggesting smaller players get fatigued more easily, or that for some reason they have played longer and harder than many of the opposition players they face? This sounds like the making of an excuse, rather than a reasoned explanation.

| Bit sick and tired of seeing Whitehead getting bullied tbh. He needs to stick up for himself now and again!!
Only player that deserves any credit from today was Kear.

Yes, smaller players first of all dont provide quite so much in the tackle as bigger players and secondly they do get tired sooner than bigger players. Check out the times of the tries. Quite a lot more in the second half, when, yes, believe or not, after all that time tackling (most of the time) or driving in, players were tired. We missed two big players , Nas and Sidlow, all told we are light on players and light on big players. If you knew anything about the laws of momentum, you would have reasoned things out for yourself instead of making totally naive statements like this, a complete contrast to your immediately preceding post. What is your excuse? Brain exhausted after the previous post?

| Not sure what people expected in a match where we were outmatched in pack tbh. Couple of dodgy decisions apart can't complain at result too much and tbh it was pretty much expected. Don't think we can complain about team spirit too much, we were just our own worst enemies penalty wise and out classed on pitch in terms of players available on day.

Don't think it was a case of the better team won, our defence was like under 8s. The Giants just walked through us.

Oh yes the fabled laws of momentum, must have forgotten about those, interesting then that some of our smaller players like Donaldson were still making tackles when our bigger players were getting brushed off, or of course there's the example of any number of smaller hookers I could mention who routinely make more tackles than props.
What is naive is to make an analogy with something you evidently know nothing about i.e. classical mechanics, whilst disregarding the empirical evidence that comes from using your eyes and watching the game you're meant to be commenting about.
Honestly, I'd almost forgotten why I'd given up posting on here, but thankfully you've popped up to remind me. Dealing with the occasional idiot is indeed exhausting. Thanks.

Smaller and less physically mature men fatigue quicker when tackling bigger and more physically mature men - not just during a game but cumulatively over a season in my view. Walker, Whitehead and Olbison started the season well but are now playing poorly as our front row is consistently unable to match their opponents. I don't think this is anyone's fault, rather a consequence of the administration/budget situ. The 4 props we played yesterday aren't a Super League standard unit.

I would agree with that. The other thing that a lot of the people posting on this thread seem to overlook is that, after playing over half the games this season, we are in seventh place and in a playoff spot. Over half the games. Played everybody at least once (and Huddersfield twice, including beating them at theirs). That is not a fluke. Yes it was a bad day at the office but this group and this coach have got us up to that league position and if we finished 7th then I would class that, given our season starting point, as an astonishing achievement.

| It wasn't just a bad day at the office though we have been poor against Leeds, Wigan, Huddersfield, London, Saints and Catalan.
Granted the majority of them are top 6 material but if you are saying that yesterday was a bad day at the office then how do you explain the poor defending and lackluster attack in the games I have mentioned?
It's no fluke that 3-4 of our players are in the top 10 for missed tackles and it's no fluke that we are slipping down the league. Yes we may be 7th (which is an outstanding achievement) but apart from beating Huddersfield (which WAS a bad day at the office for them) and nicking a draw at Leeds we are simply not good enough to compete.
I am not one to lose faith but at the moment our defence is so poor I can't see us beating Hull KR or Hull FC and in my opinion these are must win games to secure a playoff spot. Sorry to be negative but that's just the way it is. Yes we have got a lot of injuries too but that doesn't excuse missing 1 on 1 tackles or dropping the ball on the first tackle.

| Addy, who I admit to have never rated in the slightest, showed he is developing the ability to control a game & has a great future; Kear tried his socks off; that's about it. Foster might be a modern day full back but when you are in a team facing a hammering & are the last line of defence you have to put your body on the line, some of his attempts were not worthy of schoolboy RL, absolutely disgraceful. Whitehead seems to have gone backwards from the player who seemed to be pushing for an international place. Evans looks like a flabby pudding who is defensive liability after 10 minutes effort. At the moment Bulls are lacking the mental strength needed to make up for their squad deficiencies; whether Cummins can instill that time will tell.

| Looking back through the fixtures list, we have had nine games in which our performance has been between OK and excellent, and nine where our performance has been between sub-par and awful. I guess the worry comes from the bulk of those first nine coming at the start of the season and five out of the last six games being of the second category.
We are currently sat on a point per game played which is generally the tally needed for the play-offs. But we will need an uptick in form to maintain that to 27. There are somewhere between 12 and 16 gettable points in the remaining 11 games. Starting with next week at HKR we need to start picking them up consistently.
