The club has to be seen to be doing something, and at short notice (I'm guessing) the "Quest for survival" pledge scheme is probably the best idea. But, speaking for myself (3 memberships) I cannot justify pledging the required £300 without some kind of future plan. I'm sure others will have more to pledge too. I really feel for you guys who stumped up for the 5yr plans.

I can't really put into words how I feel right now

Quote: Sensei-Bull "Rather than begging fans for donations, I would be happy for them to make the Leeds home game all ticket only. No season tickets. £20 a ticket with no concessions and ask fans to turn up to support the club as possible last game at Odsal. 20k loyal fans

That's exactly what I was thinking. If we managed that, even after losing 1/6th to tax it will still be around £330k. Surely the club can manage to scrape the rest from sponsors etc. Also I'd be happy to buy a shirt (I havent bought a one this season as I got one last year) so thats an extra few quid. I would just like to get something for my money rather than just sending a donation.

Even more amazing when you read back over whiteheads comments when he committed his future to the club last week.

Desperately worrying, and upsetting.

Quote: Bullseye "Gobsmacked at the way this has come out, supposedly 2 weeks from closure? After all we have been led to believe by the club over the past few years at fora.

Adey's been pretty much a lone voice with the concerns about our cashflow but from club press releases we've never been rich but have been surviving. Now it suddenly appears we've been clinging on with our fingernails.'"

He also defended the board in the face of all reason. This board should have gone 2-3 years ago when it couldn't afford to sack its own coach or stand behind its own contracts. I argued then that it should have approached the shareholding for support and in the absence of it, should step down. Only recently we have heard triumphant references to 'Sir Peter' etc. It's been a disaster and an obvious one.

This is not something that has happened overnight. It has been years of mismanagement and a shareholding too weak to do anything about it. This was inevitable and some of us said so.

Quote: Adeybull "YOU were the individual who consistently and regularly derided any of us who tried to explain how serious the financial situation was.'"

And you were the individual who was at great pains to explain how the sale of Odsal had solved all problems for ever and anyone who disagreed with your explanation was some kind of fifth columnist.

You even dragged your old favourite "but you can see how I had every right to think your're a wassock" patronising bull out. With as much respect as I can muster for you, stop pointing your finger you arrogant <deleted>

The simple fact today is that Hood is a proven liar with a lot of explaining to do.

Reminds me so much of the situation at akefield when Ted Richardson was in the press begging for money. Turns out the best thing that ever happened to us was not paying up and us going in to administration and starting again. Wish you guys all the best but if I was in your postion i'd be keeping my £100 firmly in my pocket. You've obviously been fed the same kind of BS we were, how beliveable is the claim that all will be ok after this time? Probably not at all and maybe its time for some new blood. Good luck, hope it works out.

makes you wonder what Whitehead thinks after signing up. He could be forgiven for thinking he's been taken for a ride, like the rest of us. As has been said, this hasn't happen overnight yet we're being asked to solve it in a fortnight.

As for putting some money in, I think the club would get more if they could be more open and guarantee that we're not just postponing the inevitable. I've lost faith in Hood and Co and feel reluctant to send good money after bad.

Again I think that a share issue is the way to go. That way potential investors get something in return and the club doesn't remain in the hands of a few people, who, lets be honest, haven't really covered themselves in glory.

One thought is that the club should offer some future reward for those who pledge and pay at least the £50 minimum. Its OK to say that at least we'll then have a club to support after Easter, but its surely less OK if half the fans will end up paying for the rest? Although you have to balance that against the considerable number of folk who would like to pay but simply cannot afford to. So, no easy answer?

Such a shock to hear this news. As a Wakefield fan we know how you are feeling and gutted just isn't strong enough.

As mentioned we tried a similar scheme and it just had no chance of working. I hope you find a soluction and get somebody in charge who can make a difference to what still is a great club.

Thanks, and if it was cash I would agree with you 100%, I'm not handing any cash over. But the pledge system does allow you to show your support without too much risk of being shafted (more than a normal level of shafting we seem to getting at the mo anyway)

Im not convinced I like propping up the current board, but I think I like trusting in the alternatives even less at the moment.

BTW having a pop at each other isn't going to make anything better is it?

Now is not the time for "I told you so's" from anyone.

Great to see support from the fans of other clubs. Thank you for that.
