| Ainscough is a very good player. Last year he was unlucky with injury but when he was fit he was one of the best players we had. Trouble is we didnt use him enough and never got the ball out wide.

| He isn't a very good player and never will be. He's your average SL winger, to small and lightweight, terrible in the air and the only things he's got going for him is a bit of speed and a decent work rate. IMO of course.

| On a good day Karl Pryce is a real asset - the problem was he only had a couple of good days for us last season. Very frustrating as he has so many attributes (physique, speed) that could make him a great player.

| Quote: Old hack "Regardless of what he might have been announced as, he is nowhere close to Leon's level.
The major concern I'd have would be defence. It was garbage on the edges last year and KP wouldn't do anything to improve that based on the evidence of his performances for Quins last year. That said, with the bit between his teeth and ball in hand, he can be nigh on unstoppable.'" .
Even if he never fulfilled that potential at 18 that led to such a comment, he still has ability. But with KP and Ainscough surely its not either or, B4C, ideally you want to be able to choose from a big one or a fast one, but even more important is the ball getting to them!

| Pryce is big and fast though, best of both really.
If we do sign him, I can't see Ainscough getting much game time to be honest.

I think your assessment's maybe slightly harsh but I do agree that the majority of Bulls fans appeared to overrate Ainscough last year.
In such a bad year, a lot of people appreciated his impressive workrate but then proceeded to confuse that workrate and commitment with playing ability.
Ainscough's a competent winger and a good option to have in the squad but I do agree with B4C that he's probably middle of the pack in terms of SL wingers.

| which would you rather be at work with? somone who has ability but rarely uses it or somone with less ability but always willing to put a competent and hard working effort in? know which I prefer.
Ainscough was slated before pulling on a shirt for being too small and not being any good under the high ball, think he dropped two bombs all year (doubt there was a winger in super league who did not drop one.), he has pace, footwork, and great upper body strength something that is often underated. give him ball and he will also score same as Karl but would Karl have scored for fun outside nero (when he starved reardon) our biggest problem in attack last year was getting real quality ball out to our wingers -ainy still got 7 tries in 11. looking at stats karl only made one try assist playing most of the season at centre and 4 offloads for a big physical guy of his presence is alarming to me.
It is easy to say big wingers are better than small ones but how many of us would have taken jason robinson above jon scales? charnley, dallas, carney, donald, albert, sullivan, blacklock, foster, bai were not the biggest wingers but managed we have an obcession because we were very fortunate to have some great big wingers but why do we (some fans) keep searching for next big les or tv?

People said that when he went to Quins. He was garbage.

| really dont see why some people are so keen to see pryce at . we've got lulia, purtell and walker who IMO are ahead of him in pecking order for and then possibly crookes, sammut and whitehead who could come into reckoning. Logical playce for pryce for me is competition on the wing. Offers us something a little different to ainscough depending on opposition. After kear and ainscough we're looking at potentially moving purtell from or bringing crookes in. That seems weaker area of squad to me and also a better match to karls skill set.

| Slightly of at a tangent, but if people are suggesting the club are trying to find the money to bring Karl in, where does that leave Phil Joseph, who was officially on trial?
What about Karl though? Brilliant junior and a proven try scorer as a senior but has never cemented a spot in SL, largely due to his defence, it must be said. He's got such ability but has been soooo laid back it's untrue. I still harbour hopes that he'll break the shackles to become the player he promised to be all those years ago. Unless there is a big change in his approach to the game I can't see him being first choice though, but it really is down to him, [iIF[/i he puts a marker down and [ireally[/i puts in the effort and forgets all the inhibitions which have held him back he's [istill[/i young enough to carve a new life out of all the disappointment of recent years.
So. He can, but, will he? Always assuming the rumours have legs, of course!!

| Quote: AaronBull "I think people need to stop comparing Karl to Leon. For one, their careers have taken entirely different paths, and they've made their names in RL playing in different positions (even if Karl did play some 6 in academy rugby).
I'm delighted tbh, not just as a fan of Bradford, but for Karl. I know he's stoked to be back at Bradford and I have no doubt he'll be giving it everything in 2012. Will be a very, very shrewd recruit and a great addition to our backline. I see Purtell - Lulia - Karl - Kear as a good backline, and a much improved one.'"
Hmmmm you were adamant he had signed elsewhere.

| If we have signed him, then I'm reckoning on a Pryce, Walker, Lulia, Purtell 3/4 line as 1st choice. Would be my first choice too, but I'd like to see Kear push Kearney hard because he's got the potential to far exceed Kearneys current level of ability.
