I just hope that they arent going to put too much pressure on young tom burgess, he has the potential to be a very good prop but if he is rushed into things at an early age with every bulls supporters expectations on his back i cant see him materialising at the bulls at least , it will probabaly be the factor that makes up his mind to go to Aus and then we are losing yet another good forward....
" you dont know what you've got till its gone " is a saying i feel alot of us will find the meaning of next year without lynch i feel unless a decent prop is signed , the only issue with that is we arent seen to be a marquee club anymore so would probably have to pay a salary over the odds to temp a prop who is even " as good " never mind better than lynch , and as for raynor he was a our best winger on the pitch last year but to be honest none of us know what he was like around the club he could have been a right pain and causing all sorts of problems we dont know... but i cant see the club telling us much either , sever breach of conduct is probably as much as they will tell us .....
so what now ?!?

So Paul Sykes at prop next year then.

Good luck to Andy and thanks for the efforts.

The most surprising thing on here is that some people actually seem genuinely surprised at this? It is just another example of the total ineptitude and mismanagement at our club.

Lets' get the Hoodwinker in the press this week making an impassioned plea like he did last week in regards to the Pledge. Get him to TELL people what is happening instead of twisting facts and hiding the whole truth. What a joke team we are - current props of Kopczak, Hargreaves, Scruton and Burgess would be poor in the National Leagues. From the awesome foursome to the awful foursome.

An absolute farce of a situation.

Harsh, on Kopczak and Burgess in particular. I just hope we put the transfer fee and cap space to good use, rather than it simply being another tool to ease the club's cashflow situation.

Just interested, how do you come up with the awful foursome?

IMO, Koppy would easily find a club higher in the table than Bradford, if he was released. Scruton is actually a good player but we haven't seen too much of him this year (doesn't make him crap!). Hargreaves was considered a 'coup' as his form in the 2010 competition was fantastic and Burgess is the only young British prop that has other clubs wetting their lips?

Agree we need to bring another prop in but it's hardly the 'awful foursome'!

Without the facts, how can one say that this is a farce of a situation? Maybe Lynch requested to leave and said he'd never play in the shirt again? Maybe he wanted to extend his contract and double his pay?

Let's reflect on this decision next season as we don't know what the club have planned moving forward.

Fair enough. I was judging them as a group rather than individuals though. And it is a terrible group of props.

It's 5 months from the start of the season. Why not wait until a little nearer then to start complaining about the squad?

If the club have failed to bring in the required level of talent then fine - It's an absolute farce of a situation. I think I'll reserve judgement until I actually know what forwards Potter has to pick a team from.

Doesn't mention a transfer fee in the club statement though does it? I was waiting to read "for an undiclosed fee" but I haven't seen it I don't think.

Either way it doesn't really matter if we get the right replacement.

It's going to be a very long and boring 4 or 5 months so a bit of transfer movement should keep it interesting.

Tosh. It is an example of a club with a cheque book, going through the proper channels, and making a better package offer than we could, to a player who was (obviously) interested in what they had to say. I fail to see how this is an example of mismanagement or ineptitude. How do you suggest the Bulls could have prevented him leaving?

Unless you can explain, then I assume you feel that every club is inept and mismanaged when a decent player is transferred elsewhere. Thus every club that ever was, is inept and mismanaged.

What facts has Hood twisted? What truth has he hidden? In answer to a direct question he said that yes, Hull had come in for Lynch, yes, he did speak to them, and yes, they had got their cheque book out. So nothing twisted, and nothing hidden. Unless you can point it out.

Cos it is a crap group of props. Burgess is still young (with promise I accept), Koppy is an average Joe and Hargreaves and Scruton have hardly pulled up any trees have they?

Quote: daveyz999 "IMO, Koppy would easily find a club higher in the table than Bradford, if he was released.'"

To be fair, there are plenty of them.

Quote: daveyz999 "Agree we need to bring another prop in but it's hardly the 'awful foursome'!'"

Yet you and practically everyone else admit that we need to strengthen in this area? Even WITH Lynch the props were poor.

Quote: daveyz999 "Without the facts, how can one say that this is a farce of a situation? Maybe Lynch requested to leave and said he'd never play in the shirt again? Maybe he wanted to extend his contract and double his pay? '"

Possibly but it is indicative of the -poor recruitment we have had in the last few years. Lynch is off without barely a whimper, much in the same way that Menzies did last season. Burgess left for pennies and now look at us.

Quote: daveyz999 "
Let's reflect on this decision next season as we don't know what the club have planned moving forward.'"

Hence the reason I have called for Hood to come out and publicly make this clear to us. You never know, it may add some numbers to his beloved pledge.

Menzies was explained completely at the forum. I put up the explanation. i was extremely unhappy (still am) that we lost Menzies but the explanation is there. Sam Burgess is a ludicrous example, no club in SL could have kept him, and I am sure you know it.

Make [iwhat[/i clear, though. (And did he hear you?) Oh, and the pledge seems to be beloved by over 10,000 fans apart from Hood. No surprise if he were fond of it, I suggest.

Erm, the player was still under contract. We could have rejected Hulls' offer straight away and then he had no real option.

Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "Unless you can explain, then I assume you feel that every club is inept and mismanaged when a decent player is transferred elsewhere. Thus every club that ever was, is inept and mismanaged.'"

Nah, not all. Yet I doubt too many have made the recruitment howlers that we have in the last few years.

It is a fair assumption that he knew full well of this situation last week and avoided the chance to tell the full story.

I think we only need 1 prop.

Its time they the others stepped up to the challenge.

Burgess had a good first season, I hope he features more next year

Im looking forward to seeing the pack mature next year

If we can replace Lynch with a prop who has some aggression I'm sure we will be okay
