and also the first game of the season which usually pulls a bigger crowd than normal.
i beleive 1,400 bulls fans in attendance today which is an improvement on your recent visits but still nowhere near the 3,000 that has been bandied about on here

No because they aren't small village teams like Castleford.
Harlequins - London, Salford - Salford and Crusaders - Wrexham.
It's not like we'll miss Castleford is it? In all seriousness how can we justify having one club that represents Wakefield and another that represents a small village on the outskirts? I think a merger is the best bet.
Although Castleford has got a foot bridge hadn't thought about that.

| Oi Gledhill, your crowds were dropping like FLIES DEAD FLIES until you flogged season tickets for £60. Without this, you'd be getting 6,000 against the likes of Wakefield etc. I wasn't happy with our crowd on Saturday. But it was against Catalan, who don't bring any & it was on sky. I was content with our 8,500+ crowd against Hull KR 6 days prior.

ah but HKR bring 8,500 to every away game so you can't have had too many fans there

Why not do a £60 season ticket then?

| Right, just to say as a Cas fan I was embarrassed by the attendance at the Catalans game...but not surprised because our crowds invariably nose-dive for SKY games regardless of the opposition. Our problem is that historically we sell relatively few season tickets - I would guess only 3000+ this year - and our usual walk-up of around another 3-4000 is obviously going to be decimated when people can watch the game on TV for nothing. The tickets are among the most expensive in SL but as anyone could deduce from the population figures already posted we haven't a cat in hell's chance of selling enough to replicate the discount schemes offered by Bradford/Huddersfield so in that respect I would agree our small town status is detrimental.
Nevertheless we continued to draw bigger crowds in NL than several SL clubs and every year we seem to attract more than most for cup games against lower league sides so I think we still have something to offer attendance wise.
