| I have said for long enough that McNamara was clueless and a joke of a coach and this off-season is doing nothing to suggest otherwise.
We have lost half a team (admittedly some that needed replaced) and have hardly recruited very well at all. Reardon is a crocked has-been, Sculthorpe is a never was and whether Kearney, Hall and Le'Strange are better than the players they replaced, only time will tell.
Last year we had one decent winger, next season (at this point) we have none. Our backs are a joke and the latest signing of Sculthorpe just about sums up the ambition at the club at the moment.
Another season of abject failure ahead with this poor excuse for a side. Hopefully this will hasten the departure of the chump that is making us such a laughing stock.
No doubt we will get the usual Macca apologists telling us that there was no-one available or OOC. Burgess was not OOC and he left - we took the cash for him - will it get used? It could have been used to buy someone that was not OOC but this seems to be ignored.
Reardon and Sculthorpe??? Bloody hell.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the likes of Donaldson/Whitehead/Olbison progress in the 1st team. I'm also hoping to see some of Crossley and maybe even 1 or 2 games from one of the Burgess twins.
I reckon with a bit of luck Brett Kearney could be a pretty exciting player for us.
I'm looking forward to seeing if Halley can continue his rise at FB. I thought he was probably one of the big success stories of 09.
I'm looking forward to seeing if Scruton can start next season like he finished this season. I thought he started to show that with a little more work he could come into reckoning for the England side.
I am looking forward to seeing Menzies again, he's a legend and I thought he did magnificently for us last season in a side that was often quite poor.
Perhaps I am easily pleased but I always look forward to the new season for my RL fix.

Indeed. Shame it took McNamara longer than most to realise his potential.

I think everyone was hoping that the funds from Burgess would be re-invested in to the 1st team. The fact that it so far hasn't and looks likely it won't surely says something? You may call it lack of ambition, but what if we simply cannot afford to spend that cash?
What do we do then?

We look to have saved considerable money from the player movement for next season so that should have been some sort of money saver.
As for us not being able to afford to spend that cash, lets look at it another way. Our crowds are dwindling rapidly - therefore we are bringing in less money per week. Answer - sell the crown jewels for next to nothing and replace him with players who are hardly gonna entice the fans back. Our biggest draw leaves - we bring in a couple of journeymen. Crowds dwindle further, cash becomes scarcer.
Spend the money? Maybe get in a name that will excite the people of Bradford and the floating voters. Put more bums on seats, maybe make us competitive for 2010? A better bet than just cashing the cheque.
We keep getting told that we are not in financial trouble, therefore the fee for Burgess should be made available. If it cannot be, then, once again, we are getting lied to.
The club will start losing more money the longer this goes on and if they do nothing to address it it could be curtains.

I'd like to think that an expensive big name signing would see the crowds flocking back, but I am extremely doubtful that it would. We had one of the biggest names in RL in Burgess last year but the people of Bradford didn't flock to see him in Bulls colours.

If you're going to attempt a troll try make it a good one or at least a funny one.

He has a point though. Leeds fans will be delighted to see the mug still in charge of the club. He has made us a complete joke of a side.

Sorry, I thought for a minute you were alleging that the club deliberately sold Sam and chose to accept far less than his market value for him. Maybe you should share your deductions about why this should be so with the rest of us, since the previous 72-page thread on this subject was clearly insufficient?

His market value is way way beyond 200K, so why did they accept it?
