Earlier this summer I feared for professional sport in the City. Last night's result has secured City's immediate financial future, the Bulls have had a promise of a new donation, I'm sat in Berkshire with a big smile on my face.

You know I must confess that I have NEVER understood the general dislike that seems to be shared by RL fans towards their football counterparts and vice versa (except in Leeds). They are two completely different sports and really should not have an impact on each other. Is it wrong to support both sides?

Perhaps cos I am a foreigner looking in I just cannot see the point in it whatsoever. The City of Bradford gets enough bad publicity from others without its' own people sticking the boot in too.

I sat and watched the game last night and as a wannabe Bradfordian I was chuffed to bits at the result and the positive impact the result will have on the city on the whole. Good publicity, financial impact, televised sport and a great David v Goliath story. Some of you lot really should get over yourselves and see the bigger picture. It was an AMAZING result for BCFC and one that deserves huge praise.

I fear it is all spawned from petty jealousy TBH.

last night was amazing, when Thompson scored and then when Vermaelen missed his penalty was a feeling only matched by some of our Bulls finals a few years back.

I saw a bloke walking through Leeds station last night, wearing a City scarf with his head held high, rather than just to keep his neck warm. I felt a small sense of pride myself.

How big was his scarf?

I have been a season ticket holder at both ( haven't renewed my bulls one.....yet), and regularly attend both.

I am a Bradfordian. I support Bradford.

The rivalry is stoked by small minded people on both sides who lack intelligence and who cannot see that people enjoy sport, and that no sport excludes you from enjoying another, and who let biased views get in the way of intelligent discussion.

In the Bantams Cafe before the match on Tuesday it was great to see a few ex City players enjoying a cupps. BUt it was also great to see Anthony McGrath and Brian Noble there too. Bradfordians supporting Bradford!
