In the interests of equality, sHouldn't we open our competitions to every surrounding country? I'd hate to think that two utter gimps were waiting forlornly in Norway, Iceland or France wishing they could inflict themselves on a British talent show.

I agree, Cowell gets rich whatever. However the point I was making is that at least when people deliberately screw up the idea of voting for the most 'talented' they are no longer acting as passive consumers of the show. They are deliberately undermining it.
