Being hunted down by one side or the other and set on fire. If I'm honest
Nah I prefer to stay away from this sort of thing. Not saying other people shouldn't debate it, as I very much think they should. But without resorting to the personal insults preferably, otherwise it takes away from an otherwise excellent debate.

| Quote: tigertot "I expected you would come back with the burka ban. On one extreme the burka is a disgusting piece of modern slavery that is not a requirement in the Koran , on the other it should be anyone's right to cover their face if they choose to do so, as long as it is appropriate. If France & Belgium really are so concerned about women's rights they could start by addressing inequalities in opportunity & pay. Overall, I'm probably in favour of the ban.
I don't know what you mean by Islamification as I do not buy the Sun or Mail. If you mean are more young people turning to extremes of Islam, undoubtedly. I'm not in favour of anyone turning to any religion as an answer to local or global situations. However, if you think banning symbols of Islam, real or pretend, is going to stop this without addressing why scores of young people are prepared to blow themselves to millions of pieces I fear you are going to be disappointed.'"
I take that on board and agree with most of the above, i am in favour of a ban of the Burka not only for womens rights but also because it seperates and divides communities and is also a threat to security.
More and more muslims have become radicalised since 9/11 and there now seems to be increasing seperation of cultures in Cities like Bradford. My first 2 best friends from first school and middle school were pakistani's, its almost unheard of these days.

Logically I think you might find it was just a tad before that.

If the sentences in the book are structured like the one on the cover I can't see why anyone would.

| Ironic and strangely amusing how the ad at the bottom of the page as I read the above comments (the "Browse Singles Now" one) is advertising muslima.com and flashing pictures of singles I might want to meet wearing burkas

| I would like to see the ban on wearing the burka extended to the USA. Then see how cool the KKK look in a hijab.

| They should let the EDL and UAF hold their static protests in the big Westfield Hole, then fill the thing in once they're inside.

So you're in favour of one brand of religious intolerance but not another?

I reckon it's since the invasion of Iraq rather than 9/11 that the most dramatic increase in radicalisation (in the UK) has occured

| Why does debating religion or politics always descend into arguements and personal insults?
It would be best to ban such debate on this board before everyone falls out with one another. I am impartial to this debate but read some of the contributions and the treatment dished out to judge666 is appalling. He expresses a viewpoint that many in this country share and he should be allowed to express that without being disrespected.

It's not the person people might violently disagree with, it's the opinion. However, you should understand that it is not always possible or reasonable to separate the two. For example, If I said I think your mother is a filthy whore, would you disagree but respect my right to hold and express that opinion, or would you hold it against me personally?

Debate is stifled in this country as it is. At home & at school. I don't ever remember havng a debate at either. Unless people are allowed to argue we end up with t0ssers like EDL.
