| Quote: Duckman "Just on that 30% figure, 3000 individual pledges that the club keep telling us about. This figure does not equate to 70% not pledging. I would suggest many individual pledges count for the household/family pledge. It did in mine. 1 individual pledge
I do think your right on this and I think another reason for the low attendance as such for the Doncaster game has come from the fact that this year Season Ticket holders had to pay, until this year the first round of the CC has been free to ST holders. As you have said many people have pledged and that takes a lot out of the family budget, what we may have to do is miss a few away games and just keep to home games for now and that is not what we usually do as we as a family usually travel to home and away games.
Something has to give somewhere.
On the subject of people pledging and not paying what they pledged is a bit of a sore point to me, I understand the frustration and the lack of information coming out from the Bulls just now but I'm guessing a lot of confidential discussions are going on and as soon as things get confirmed and signed we will hear what we need, its hard I know but it is all we can do.
If some things we hear in the press come to pass then we really are in trouble but I'll shut up about it now I promise

| I pledged £150 plus bought a virtual ticket for the Leeds game. As I'd pledged, I paid up.
There was always going to be reports that the club would be placed in admin. It shouldn't put you off pledging.
The main reason I pledged, and the reason I honoured my pledged, was that I would feel that I had let the club down if we didn't reach the target and I had done nothing to help.
People who don't want to part with their cash will always find excuses not to help out.
The club asked for our help; I responded. I don't buy all this "it's not the club that's asking; it's the board". It clear that there's been no 'sugar-daddy' alternative to the current board; Caisley left them in a mess; and they've done the best they could fighting a losing battle.
If you're a true fan; you'd honour your pledge.

| I have no problem at all with people not pledging to this board. They haven't helped themselves at all.
Pledging and then not honouring it? Tantamount to sabotage. The time to decide was before pledging.

| If anyone made a pledge then they should have paid up by now.
Anyone who hasn't simply is a person whose word means nothing. You had the choice to pledge or not. Having made a "PLEDGE" (look it up) you are simply going back on your word if you break that promise and fail to pay. Don't come whingeing on here with your mealy-mouthed self-excusing pathetic justification, man up and say "I gave my word".
Either your word means something, or it doesn't. I fully understand that of course some peoples' word is worth jack schitt.

Correct.
I suspect the actual amount not honouring pledges will be very very small indeed.

Good luck with that.
I imagine it's as likely as a full and frank statement of the whole facts.

| I haven't honoured my pledge yet as I was waiting a few days in the hope that the club would clarify the situation regarding further investments. When I pledged I assumed (stupidly) that the club would do this after the 1st 500k was reached. I am starting to realise that this is not going to happen so like many others I have resigned myself to possibly throwing my money at a sinking ship. I am disapointed with the club for putting us in this situation. What they should have done is said that they will only take our pledges if they can secure the remaining 500k from investors/sponsors. That way we're not just handing our money to the administrators.

An email went out to 'non paying pledgers' yesterday saying:
'If everyone who receives this email redeemed their pledge, it would bring in over £50,000'

That suggests a non-payment rate of around 10%. All of which has been caused, it seems to me, by the utter lack of communication from the board. Whilst there will undoubtably things that they cannot and should not tell us at the moment, regarding financial conversations, the fact that they have told is absolutely nothing has not helped the cause.
BTW for the avoidance of doubt, I have paid

I believe they [idid[/i say that they would only call in the pledges if/when the other £500k was sourced. Which is why I've been fairly relaxed about things. The silence now, however, is deafening.

actually it suggests non payment percentage is lower than 10% as the pledge total also included bucket collection, auction proceeds, car wash etc. I know originally they said 500k off pledges but they changed wording as campaign progressed to include monies raised through other events.

| it would not surprise me if the few days extension for the pledge was so they could alsosatisfy themselves that there was a very good prospect of getting the second £500K. If there was no prospect at all Hoods only move would be to resign and let Caisley and his widely trumpeted plan carry the burden. it takes time and it could all go wrong, and the investors/whoever would want confidentiality until its all done and dusted, so they are saying as much as they can, Ryan said yesterday that there was nothing further to report in terms of potential investment into the club, which presumably means that they are still in talks with two parties but nothing resolved.

Doesn't that suggest a non-payment rate HIGHER than 10% then. My maths is rusty...but
If £500,000 in pledges, then £50,000 not paid = 10%
If £450,000 in pledges, then £50,000 not paid = 11.1%
If £400,000 in pledges, then £50,000 not paid = 12.5%
...and so on
All a bit pedantic maybe. The key thing is to get that £500K in by some means or other

| Hold on. That £50k figure was plucked out of the air AFAIK, so who cares about the specific calculations? The point, however, still stands - some idea of how we're doing would presumably help rather than hinder things.
