| Quote: Ewwenorfolk "We could look elsewhere for our season tickets for better value, but we don't because we are loyal. I'm feeling increasingly likely to make the difficult financial decision to not renew my season ticket.
Maybe robbie can tell us how this fits in with all the hashtag belong nonsense. If anyone 'belongs' its Jamie Langley after his contributions for the last 13 years.'"
That's nonsense. Jamie's contract blatantly doesn't offer value for money in it's current state in a similar way to Platty. If we could keep both and still improve the overall squad that would be great but I imagine that on the current wages it's financially impossible. From their pov, if I had been offered the same role in my work for half the pay I'd be moving on fairly sharpish too. I'll be gutted to see him go but not as gutted as I was to see Beaver go to Catalans and continue being the best player in the league, just somewhere else. Jamie has never lived up to being "the next Andy Farrell". He's not a touch on the top Loose Forwards in the league and he hasn't really made a great transition up through the pack. He's a solid player but nothing more. There really is no place for sentiment towards the squad. I'm far happier at retaining Donno and Addy than if they had both gone and we had kept Langley for "sentimental value". Let the new signings continue!

| I think it's right to let Langley and Platt go.Langley has been a good if not spectacular player for us who's work rate has always been exceptional.Hes also probably been one of the highest earners for a few years now and has shown very good loyalty in the last few years, and the Bulls have also been loyal to him by keep renewing his contract,so lets not say the Bulls are not showing loyalty to him, think the time has come to try get a bit more for the amount of money they are paying him.
As regards Platt, again it's general opinion he's probably on above average contract for a player, who to be honest is nowhere near above average player.Yes he tries very hard but if we want to be nearer the top of the table than the bottom then you would expect every player to try very hard, but with a bit more ability.Bulls signed Platt in 2007 and since then it's been a downward slide,of course that's not Platts fault, but what my point is that since then we have mainly signed players from teams who are below us in the league,if we don't win tonight we will finish 11th this season so not many teams below us this year. The list of very average players we have signed in the last 6 or 7 years is endless and Platt is definately in that list
Platt
Herbert
Worrincey
Godwin
Nero
St Hilaire ( the player and the coach)
Evans
Sheriffe
Feather
And so on and so on
Every signing so far for next season are from teams in the top 8 (Gaskell from Saints not Salford) this has not happened for a long long time,so if we have to lose players who have been comfy for a while so be it

| Good point about where we sign players from Roger. We need to bring players from successful teams with winning cultures. Hopefully we're beginning to do that.

| Definatley made some strong signings, most from clubs above us. They've had a good professional upbringing and will complement our crop of youngsters well.

You may dismiss it as nonsense, but I know I'm not the only one who feels like that.
There's a difference between sentiment and loyalty.
People keep banging on about not keeping him for sentiment, but its not as though he's a terrible player, and his bad spell with injuries seems to have passed. I genuinely think we'll miss him and I think that he will go on to have a few more decent seasons.
I'm very happy with retaining those two as well. They still have a lot to learn though and a gf & wcc winning player should have plenty to pass on.

| Couldn't possibly keep either of them on a decent wage. Neither have offered value for money in recent seasons, and was a big Langley fan. We need fresher and more dynamic bodies.

| I wouldn't have kept Dijon. Walker is a crafter though. Will be a good man to come off the bench. He's still mobile enough, I imagine he will be on a fairy modest wage too.

So you know what their deals are? Langley was allegedly one of highest earners at club. No ones disputing he's a decent player and loyal to club. But we're operating on half sky money and have to get best value for money we can. If Langley can get a better deal than we were prepared to offer then good luck to him. But loose/2nd row is a position where we are relatively strong anyway with younger cheaper players coming through.

No. I don't know Langleys either, that's why I'm just trying to go on what we as fans can judge.
I don't know why operating on half money affects the 'value for money' if we have the cap available anyway. I think there are a lot of other factors which put Langers' value up for us aswell.
Maybe once we get into next season ill be able to look at it from a more balanced pov, but at the moment I'm annoyed and gutted to see him go.

| Gutted to see Langers leave, I was still secretly hoping for him to sign on for another year but it seems pretty obvious to me what has happening with Langers and Platt.... Langers is a great player, hard worker, good defender and always gives his all but no matter what player it is if they price isn't right you just cant keep them.
We aren't in a position to through silly money at anyone and I think its pretty obvious a contract would have been signed for Langers if he would have been able to accept less money, he couldn't accept it so that's it really. I have always liked Langers and I wish him all the best and will still sing his song when he lines up for his next team
I don't think anyone can say Langers was a bad player or anything but he probably was on too much money for the club these days

| I don`t see a great deal of difference between Langley and Donno, except Donno`s on probably a third to half Langer`s wage. To me it`s a no brainer.

| I know from an excellent source that Platt and Langley were on very good money indeed and they were going to need to take a big cut to properly reflect their position in the squad.

| Donno has already passed the ball more times this season than Langley has done in his entire career.

About ten years - that seems like one reasonable difference?
Langley has been a good honest grafter for theBulls for the last ten years, but FC is rightly looking at the next ten years
