| Quote: daveyz999 "An e-mail i have seen from Petit to season ticked holders states that whist he has proposed the club is liquidated, he hasn't yet appointed a liquidator.
From the original post, and the cloak and dagger approach, i'm thinking this meeting is more of a come meet the person that the RFL have already given the green light to form a new Club.
As a result, the (potential) new owner(s) are trying the hardest to make sure they can keep some sort of a team for the following season.
I highly doubt a buyer will make a late approach for the club from the administrator, as the RFL has already set the scene that the punishment for writing everything off will be exactly the same.
Fingers and toes crossed!'"
What email pal. I have bought mine but not had an email?

| Not sure about the cap exemption. Definitely a quota exemption was announced but nothing about a cap exemption.

| Does anyone else think it smacks of desperation from Petitt? Threatening liquidation as MG wouldnt have got enough back, says going into liquidation to force a buyers hand, buyers say do it then! Petitt then delays appointing liquidator to try entice bidders back so MG and the administrator come away with something rather than nothing?

And wait until all the best players have gone as well? It would not be the shrewdest bit of business ever.

Whoever the new owner is, if the RFL deal which is currently on the table is taken up, then I see admin 4 on the horizon anyway. I find it hard to think we'll get through the season when the defeats pile up and the crowds drop to nothing.
Course, it'll be entirely our fault....and the RFL will come out of it, hands in the air, saying "we did our best", and smelling of effluent.

Depends how much brass they've got!
(Likely very little).

| There must be clubs willing to loan us players that should see us OK if we make it to the season.

Perhaps not, but also perhaps they wanted some of the higher paid players off the wage bill? And maybe even to renegotiate other contracts?
It's been hinted that some of the wage bill was far higher than it should have been. Allowing all contracts to be severed first and then renegotiate them could be a way to help resolve that, even if it means having a lower quality squad at the end of it.

| The latest I've heard is that the new owner would satisfy the creditors by something called a debt to share equity scheme whereby the biggest creditors would dissolve their debt for shares in the club to stop it from officially being liquidated. Genuinely interested to know who this new mystery owner is.

Which would surely mean Marc Green would end up as a large shareholder. If true, this doesn't fill me with confidence.
