I thought Brad McKay was an awesome ball playing LF for us.

| I heard from somebody who's guesses are pretty spot on that.....
We're looking at signing Aaron Gorrell from Brisbane. I've never seen him but he's a Hooker so that would probably mean that Newton is Wakefield bound as people are saying.

He's that fella that played for Catalans.

Yeah he played at Catalans last year and couldn't get back in the team when McGuire started playing 9 to accomodate Mogg in the halves.
He's ok, but I can't say I ever looked at him and thought "I'd like to see him playing at Bulls".
If we do sign him, I wouldn't be thrilled but wouldn't be gutted either. One of those "wait and see how he does" kind of signings.

Spot on. I'm a massive Sinfield fan, he's a great player & great captain, a model professional, but he's not big enough for a world class LF nor fast enough for a SO. He fits in perfectly in a Leeds team full of great players but cannot raise his game to a higher level when playing against the Aussies. Memory fades but I think he did ok against them coming on as reserve hooker.

So not a good enough replacement for Newton in your opinion?

I honestly wouldn't want to commit myself one way or the other on it. It COULD be a decent signing, it COULD be a poor one. I think it really would be one of those "wait and see" situations.
I would hope though that since he's hardly a world class player, we wouldn't give too long a contract, just in case it doesn't work out.

| heard from very good sources that Sam is going to the NRL next year.
Also, Deacs is going and Jeffries.
No rumours who - if any - will sign to replace them

Who's going to sign Deacon? Can't see him retiring. Who are these sources?

Deacs and Jefferies in the NRL is surely a dream come true for some lucky antipodeans
Hope Sam isn't going, he might not be the finished article, but I would like to have seen him become that at Bradford before plying his trade in Auz.

Interesting. If Sam does go then the club would have to bring in some top quality to soften the blow. If they don't pull it off a lot of people will be very disgruntled, after all he ticks all the boxes for fans, he's a local lad, young, coveted by other clubs and when he performs he's one of the best forwards in SL.
I wouldn't be surprised if Deacs retired. He's taken some heavy knocks this year.
If Jeffries goes as well we'll need two new halfbacks at least. That means the side would take time to settle down next year but it's an opportunity for a fresh start.

I hate to say this but, if Sam stays at the Bulls as they are now I don't think he'll ever be the finished article.

I'd be extremely surprised if that was true. New players at 6,7 and 9. Plus the loss of our star man, sounds like a lot of re-building in one off season.
I did hear a few weeks ago that Leon Pryce might be on his way back to the Bulls. I laughed it off at the time though as complete nonsense.
I'd take
6.Pryce
7.Jeffries
9.Wing

To Salford to replace Myler. That should seal their fate. Or Oldham.
