| Best performance from our lads for a long time. We were the better team IMHO for most of the match. The only times we were not were when it probably mattered the most - letting them through for a couple of relatively easy tries (but our defence was generally very very good all night otherwise) and, especially, not having something special to get the points when close to their line.
I was apoplectic about Bridge's forearm smash at Ben. Could not understand why it was not a straight red. Don't forget, I am still very very bitter about Bradley being red-carded for something allegedly similar in his last game in 1998 when it transpired he had no case to answer, so you will never get an objective opinion from me on an action like Bridge's! I have read that the attack was to the chest not the neck, as it appeared to be at the game watching the screen half a mile away. If it was, maybe - just maybe - that saved him. But if it was a brain fart (does Bridge possess a brain, after some of his previous off-field antics...?) then I just wish some of our own players' brain farts in recent times would have been so leniently dealt with.
Wire's first try was surely off the mother of all forward passes? Even Leeds might have struggled to get away with that one. The rest of their tries seemed OK. My only issue was why Hallibut did not go to the screen for the possibility of a double-movement (it wasn't - he kept his arm off the ground and scored a good try as a result) when he did for our no-tries, and we had one chalked off because of a foot in touch a single frame (how many naonoseconds is that?) before the ball was grounded. I suspect we would have had two tries awarded had the game not been on TV.
I could not understand why we had Samut' try disallowed, although I have read an explanation elsewhere that I suspect is the truth of it.
I did not think Hallibyut had a lot of help from at least on e of his TJ's tonight. On 60 mins I thought he was having a reasonable game, although I think his failure to penalise some actions could have led to a brawl before the end. Credit to the players on both sides for avoiding that - that last quarter was intense and could have gone badly wrong.
Langley was very very good tonight I thought, and Diskin showed more of the form that he showed in his past life at Leeds. Can't fault the effort all round though, just that little bit lacking still in the execution near the line. But we made good yards and really stuck it up the Wire, and they didn't like it. Got rattled and made mistakes, even allowing for the temporary loss of Briers.
Presume Tom came in for Scrutes, who I presume was given understandable leave of absence at short order tonight. Well done for backing up like that.
If offered a loss by 13 and not a lot between the sides before the match, with our injury list I suspect most of us would have taken it. Well-deserved standing ovation at the end. I expected another pummeling. Instead, I saw a hell of a lot of grounds for renewed hope. An excellent defensive effort. A team that played the full 80 and still had some gas in the tank at the end. And an all-round effort second to none. I'd have much preferred a win unlooked-for, and maybe Gale and Ollie and Purtell would have made the difference near the line, but losing like that is going to make a few more around the game revisit their "written-off" assessments.
Well done lads.

Don't say Riley obstructed because that's a weak argument.
No idea what your issues.are with Waterhouse's try. Stonewaller.'"
Grounding it short followed by double movement to get it over line. Was at least worth referring to VR.

Agree 100% on second point. He did not refer that yet he referred ours.
At the match, on the big screen about half a light year away, it did seem clear that neither the ball nor the ball-carrying arm hit the deck. But one to double check on the replay I think, in due course since I never set Sky+ cos of expecting the worse...

| No issues with Waterhouse's try at all for me. The eagle-eyed touchie probably saw it was a try from where he was and told the ref. I mean he didn't miss a thing all match...

| In general, ignoring the deficiencies in the refereeing, was very pleased with our performance. We are actually starting to look like a team rather than a set of of individuals. To say we never got rub of the green our heads never went down and we kept trying. Only minor niggle for me is Langley needs telling he's allowed to pass. Tends to run it in every time he gets the ball.

Yeah its about time he started offloading it a bit or move him into the backrow so he can crash onto the ball outwide and break a few tackles from the smaller guys or even upto prop. None the less he's good at what he is 'presumably' being asked to do, and thats take it up and make some yards.
Really impressed with the aggression Maneses showed, he really got the team going when he came on. I likedhow he was coming in to hurt the man instead of just comleting the tackle.

| A very improved work effort and confidence all round, better tackling than of late but for me it was parity in the collisions that led to our speed around the rucks, and defence against their rucks that was the most improved factor.
As said already our good ratio of possession and field positions was let down by poor creativity in the red zone, albeit against a well structured Warrington defence.
Overall a performance which the players and supporters can take lots of pride from.

| very happy to come away with a win..nearly always tough at Odsal...especially without Monas, Westwood and Briers (for a half.)
Keep that intensity in your defence and get a better kicking game will see you win more than you loose.

| FWIW ~ I think tonight was brilliant for our squad, they matched the Wires for long periods of the game and but for some contentious refereeing decisions would have run the opposition a lot closer.
Whilst the Wire probably deserved to win, just! ~ we showed that this squad does have the potential to become a competitive force in SL.
The major gain tonight was the pride & self belief that the team must feel after that game and the knowledge that the players did their fans proud tonight.
Does anyone know if we came out of tonight's game injury free?

| Was impressed with so many aspects tonight.
I thought Wire tried to play around the ruck all night, obviously they have been taking notes of our previous games, but i actually thought we defended much better than previous games.
In my opinion, i thought our pack were the stronger of the 2 teams tonight, the meters made, and the defensive effort was great but we need to remember we have backs that need to be brought into play.
At times, we had the ball in their 20, we had no idea what to do. I actually thought that the time we spent there, we could have actually posted a large score against Wire. It was then so disappointing for Wire to then get into our 20 and walk straight through.
If we get some clinical plays put together that we can execute on a match day, we will be a match for any team. Until then, we only look like scoring from kicks.
Manu....... (New forward) looked really impressive tonight, ran hard, looked to offload, looked to get on his feet fast to play the ball. He looks the real deal.
For me, we need to show we can take our opportunities when we have field position. If we get that sorted, this team can make a real push up the table, hopefully making the play-offs

| Very good effort tonight if we can finish a set with a try when we are so close to the try line & play like this for the rest of the season we are going to kill off a lot of sides.
Some poor decisions from the ref and linesmen not saying we would have won if they went the other way just a lot closer

| Good display from the pack and the backs. What we need is some way of maybe linking the two. The backrow in particular is looking pretty good at the moment.
Much improved though. Really pleased with that result. After the Wigan game I asked for more mongrel and less lap dog and that's exactly what we got.

| thats the sort of game that makes you optimistic for the second half of season, build on that and you have a real chance of playoffs. lets go to kr and kick on! Again Bateman getting stuck in a fellow player in trouble, he impresses me more and more. just cannot see how 3 officials did not see the elbow, wherever it hit is irrelevant, its the intent that needs to be punished. Before the game would have settled for less than 30 points difference, well pleased with 7 after discounting the forward pass try. and Oxford Exile, you only have 2 and a half players missing. We have Elima, Gale, Donaldson, Purtell.

| Add to that walker, sibbit and olbison ( plus scruton unavailable). Fair enough not all first choice players but some are first choice backup for players already injured.
