reasons for sidlow rather than Mason: 1. better defensively as higher tackle rate and lower missed tackle rate, 2. might not make quite so many meters per drive but offloads and tackle busts high whereas Mason virtually nil 3. half the penalty rate so less metres lost 4. A lot younger. Overall will make us good meters, keep the play going and put in a good defensive stint. subject to injuries...

I am mearly commenting on the quality of the player. I just don't think he is very good and it is frustrating when you look at the size of him. Hope it works out for you guys but I was surprised he wasn't released in the off season tbh as he may have 1 good game a year which isn't enough. In relation to Salford need to hold onto everyone.... why? This is an opportunity to clear the deadwood, I would rather take a chance on a cheaper young front rower from the lower levels.

You guys are struggling for fans and money, I hardly see how replacing the likes of Moon, Holdsworth, Smith, Sidlow etc with a bunch of lower league unknowns is going to attract more fans?

We were "lucky" during our disaster of last season in the fact that we have a decent solid fanbase which sadly Salford do not have. Two months of 3000 or less crowds and you are fecked.

Sidlow doesn't fall into the same category as the other names mentioned, they were the ones we should have held onto if possible. Sidlow isn't top 8 standard and is one of a lot os the players int he squad who is mearly good enough for us to finish 10/11th every year.btw love the sympathy, I will have part of the £500,000 I donated back please!

I can see this deal helping both fans, Salford are in desperate need of lowering the bills and Bradford are in desperate need of a prop. Think most are just happy to have a solid if not spectacular player.

After last season I wouldn't want anyone to go though same as we did, hope Salford pull through and soon for the fans sake.
