| IMO there's a difference between Platt's poor performances and Worriency's.
Platt's were mainly down to a loss of confidence. Not a surprise as he was playing in a spot-lighted position and made a number of errors on that and the crowd got on his back. He was moved down to the reserves and switched out a centre spot and he improved his game.
But I don't think that would work for Worriency. He's a poor defender, always has been. But that is something that can be coached. But given the guy is already 24 I don't think we should waste the time on him as we've better players coming through our academy

Sums it up for me.
I also think that it was never a lack of effort with Platt, but Worrincy just doesn't look interested.
With Whitehead, Olbison and Tate all coming through in the second row, plus Donno at Loose and Addy can also play back row, we shouldn't keep trying Worrincy, he's had enough chances. Its time to ship him out on loan and then let him seek a contract somewhere else for next season.

| Don't see McNamara seeing it that way. Perhaps if he shoves him in the centre berth everything will come good.

| Worrincy looks really down on confidence to me. A spell in the U20s could only be of benefit at the moment. Donaldson to LF with Menzies in the SR.

| I can partly understand why MacNamara has persisted with Worrincy. He has such natural athletic ability that most coaches will believe that surely they can make a rugby player out of him. And there was a period last season (round the time of the Saints victory) when he did look like he could develop into a prolific try scoring forward. Shame he seems to have gone backwards.

| Good to see some balanced views on the Worrlord after the bile posted in the first few pages.
OK mates so he did miss three crucial tackles, but why isn't there a thread about Menzies constantly dropping the ball, or Halley's best effort at a Platt impression at FB
Maybe the Worrlord will gain more confidence with a run with the young lads. But MAYBE he just had a bad day at the office, and should be given the chance to show us what he is made of against Hull
I'm thinking perhaps Worrincy is not really a forward. For a fast man he is a big unit, why don't we play him on the wing to give us a bit more strike out wide? Come the summer when the pitches harden the centre-wing combination of the Emperor and the Worrlord could set SL alight! We know he has the potential to be a try-scoring machine, he just needs to be given more of a chance
Keep the faith, he'll come good

Day? He's been gash ever since we signed him. He had a "purple patch" where he scored some tries, but was still god awful in defence.
The time for "giving him a chance" was gone long ago. The bottom line is, he is not good enough. Doesn't look like he ever will be.
When he's on the field, he gets support from the fans. All players do. But that doesn't stop people from noticing that the ability to be a super league player just isn't there.

| Can you see Worrincey on the wing? The new Volcano anyone?

I did suggest this in pre-season. If he's to be dropped down to the u20's then giving him a try in that position can't hurt. His poor tackling won't be as problematic as it is in the middle of the park and his pace and power can be better utilised.
If the move is successful then we could use it to move Reardon to a centre spot because I feel he'd be more comfortable there than on the wing.

Lesley had power and aggression and could send multiple defenders flying! Worrincy doesn't have any of these qualities. He has pace but I doubt he is good in the air and his defence would still be exposed out wide. His best position I am afraid in somewhere in the NL.

| The next Lasley?
Les was one of the most passionate players I have ever seen in a Bradford shirt. Even if Worrincy could match the physical attributes (I highly doubt it) he wouldn't get anywhere near the effort, passion, heart or commitment shown by Les.

| Worrincy's stats this season show he's taking the ball up less than in 2009 and so making fewer metres. He's also missing more tackles per game.
He's made no clean breaks yet and only bust 1 tackle.
In comparison Whitehead has twice as many metres gained, carries and tackles. He's also leading the way in tackle busts, clean breaks and offloads. Only when it comes to missed tackles does Worrincy do better.
Admittedly Worrincy has probably had less time on the field, but as an impact player I think he's lacking form at the moment. Donaldson must be a certain selection for Hull surely?

You'd think so wouldn't you?
This would be the 19 man squad for me:
Halley, Sheriffe, Sykes, Nero, Platt, Reardon, Kearney, Orford, Lynch, L'Estrange, Scruton, Langley, Whitehead, Menzies, Godwin, Hall, Kopzcak, Donaldson, Olbison
Probably Olbison & Platt/Nero to miss out.

| Major point in comparison Donaldson to Worrincy is that Donaldson is the future. He should be ahead in the pecking order, but of course not overplayed.
