| Well, it was always going to be a hard game against Wigan. No Herbert of Briggs mean that we need to be looking to other players to lead the team round the park.
I would point at Diskin and say this is a game for him to show his quality.

| So once again, no half backs. A new season, yet same old, same old.
So why no Southernwood? He is a scrum half isn't he? Are we back to playing players out of position again?
Very depressing.

| And how come all the press have to say is that Lima is out for Wigan? No mention of Bradford having no half backs at all? Strange.

Because Potter doesn't believe he's bulked up enough to play Super League yet.
Medley made the same comment last year and when asked about it at the forum on Wednesday, Potter said Cain was one for the future, but won't be selected yet as he needs to put some bulk on.

Potter stated on Wednesday that Cain still had some areas he needed to work on before he would consider him for SL action.
Depressing? Personally I cannot wait to get back down to Odsal on Sunday afternoon.
If the players follow the gameplan for 80 minutes we have enough quality to get a result.

| Quote: mat "maybe we should have signed both obst as cover for briggs and herbert.
Oh and we'd better sign jeffries as cover for obst and while were at it lets get pryce as cover for jeffries.
How far do you go in terms of signing players for cover? We dont really have an issue at standoff. we still have decent options there even with both briggs and herbert out. The bigger problem is scrum half where both are 1st choice (herbert) and 1st choice backup (briggs) are unfortunately injured at the same time. But we still have options we can play so it isnt the end of the world some are making out.'"
Give over you know and everyone's knows that we should have signed another specialist halfback.

And which one that was available and that we could afford and that wanted to come, should we have signed?
Paul Cooke? Jordan Tansey?

| Quote: mat "TBH I think if it had been a crucial game herbert could have played this week.'" How more crucial is your opening home game of the season.
Quote: mat " With langley and briggs both out for significant periods of time, would herbert playing have given us a significantly better chance of beating wigan on sunday? If I'm honest I dont really think it would.
'" Well we'd have a better chance with him in the side not sat in the stands.
Quote: mat " The way I think potters viewing it is this. If herbert is brought back too soon, in a game we dont really have a realistic chance of winning and then aggravates the injury and misses significantly more games then we really are in trouble given briggs injury as well.'" We have a chance of winning every game its not like we're playing the Australian national side.
Quote: mat " So I suspect potter is taking the hit on the wigan game to ensure that herbert is absolutely 100% for the winnable run of games we have coming up after wigan is out of the way.'" I certainly hope he's not tasking a "HIT" on the Wigan game as last year showed its easy to pick up that losing habit.

Obst? Who will have only become available this week when the administrators decided to start selling players and Hull were clearly more desperate for than we were, since Berrigan left and they were in desperate need of another hooker. Therefore would no doubt have been willing to pay more than we would. Or would you maybe have preferred we pay over the odds to make sure we got him?

| Is Obst on a 2/3 year deal and taking up a quota spot such great business? I would prefer we were a little patient and waited for the right player to come along.

| We should put a offer in for Jarrod Sammut, money and a couple of players in exhange or loan such as Crossley and Olbison.

| We just need to accept that once again we have been unlucky with injuries in an area of our team that we can ill afford. On both hemispheres quality halfbacks that are available are thin on the ground and last minute panic buying is not the answer.
If we play good percentages and do the little things in the game well we can stay in the contest and anything can happen.
