Have you not tried Medina? Lightcliffe Road, I love the place.

Only downside is they do not deliver.. only via taxi. But if you're close enough to walk or happy to drive you'll get a bloody good curry.

| Chappel kebabs from the Punjab Sweet Centre are an excellent nasal decongestant. Do not insert into your nose.

They seem to clear blockage elsewhere too and turn harmless material into napalm. I tried the haleem in there a few weeks ago. It says it takes 24 hours to prepare but they had some going, it was like potted meat curry. A bit different but I would't rush back for it. Made me suffer the next day too but that seems to be the price I pay at the Punjab.

Tried this place last night. One of the best takeaway curries I have ever had. Nice bloke who runs it too. Shouldn't let its appearance from outside put you off.
Cheers BB

Yeh I meant to mention it looks a bit of a shack from the outside but has 4/5 stars for food hygiene. Glad you enjoyed it, I enjoyed my balti! I recommend the Tarka if you fancy something a little bit different.

| I was Back in Bradford (to paraphrase Smokie) yesterday so went in Omars. Distinctly average, though the naan was excellent. Wish we'd gone to Lahore next door - never seen it reviewed or been in, but it always seems popular with locals.

Lahore is excellent. Omars has never had anything to offer but naans. Bloody outlanders.

| Slightly OT but I had what turned out to be an amazing curry at the weekend.
FA curry
1 can Pataks Masala curry paste
1 bag frozen minced lamb
2 chopped and fried onions
2 additional unexpected guests when dish half cooked
1 can Alloo Gosht (a few years old cos I bought 2, but the first one was gash)
half container of Morrison's potato salad that I was going to chuck out
the remains of a small jar of El paso chopped green chilis
about a half a tube of tomato paste
a decent squeeze of garlic paste
a few drops of Nando's hot West Indian sauce
large drop of sherry
coriander, ginger and cumin salt, sugar, pepper, and I think a dash of cloves if memory serves, randomly thrown at it and stirred in bit by bit until it was to my taste
I wish I had the recipe.

there's a lahore restaurant opened in king cross (halifax), is it likely to be a chain?

| I've tried some of the suggestions on here but most have been bland with cheap meat. They dont make them like they used to unfortunately but the only stand out curry in Bradford imo and I've been eating them for the best part of 35 years has got to be Omar Khans in Little horton lane. The tava gosht lahora is what curries are all about and this dish is consistently good every time! A proper curry for the curry connoseur!
