| Quote: DILLIGAF "I haven't seen what Bailey did on Friday, so can't really comment. At the moment I'm judging it on the fact that most Leeds fans were even slating him for it, which is usually an indication that there was no excuse.
Senior I'm more referring to him running in at fights, obstructing CONSTANTLY and his PTB Interference. The sort of stuff he does pretty much constantly throughout a game but somehow manages to completely get away with. Every now and again, he will get pegged for something when it's so blatant it's impossible to ignore, but generally he gets away with more than any player I've seen.
Again though, I've not seen what he's done this time, so I couldn't possibly say if he deserves to be banned or not in this case.
I do completely agree though that Leeds will be massive favourites for our match on Thursday, despite their recent poor form.'"
The SL site had it in its entirety, however it is difficult to see what happens for the full duration. Bailey seems to take Brown without the ball, whether deliberately or he expected him to take a pass is largely irrelevant. Bailey picks him off the ground by his collar & keeps hold, Brown pushes him away a couple of times without success, Bailey gives him a smack. IMO Brown did nothing wrong, unless he said something, Bailey did what any enforcer should do. Don't laugh. There is a minor fray which is nearly over until LOD, who must have been in the changing rooms, arrives like a delayed train to be met by a beaut from Bailey. All hell breaks loose. No-one got hurt. Bailey got SO, Giants myopic fans say he spat at children in the away end, complete tosh as reasonable Giants fans have confirmed. LOD is pointing & gesticulating all the way to the tunnel when he gets his orders. It was nothing, Rhinos fans are concentrating on it as it was the only positive out of the performance.

Not sure Briggs will get to play again, move Kearney back to the halves and Royston to FB.

To be fair, the way you describe it, I'd still expect Bailey to get a ban, purely based on past record. Sending Off Sufficient is often called because the player hasn't got a bad record, but that certainly won't be the case for Ryan. While I agree he's doing his job as the enforcer, you just can't do that in the modern game. Taking someone out off the ball, then picking them up again and chinning them is not the sort of incident they'll just let go.
I think had the incident just been the fight between Bailey & LOD, we probably would just be seeing SOS. But with the whole thing between him and Brown, I'd suggest he'll cop a ban.
I'll have to try and find this footage later so I can have a good watch for myself though!
Oh and I expected the whole "spitting at the crowd" thing to be b0llocks from the moment I heard it.

What record? This was his first sending off in SL. Or are you referring to his off-field record?

General disciplinary record, which is what they take into account. I don't know it off the top of my head, but I would assume he has a reasonably colourful one? (I'm genuinely intrigued now to see if he has).
I wouldn't think his prison sentence would (or in fact should) be taken into account, as it has nothing to do with RL.

I hope he gets away with sending off sufficient. Should add some spice to the game.

IMO you need players in your team who the opposition know you don't mess with unless you want a scuffle. If you accept that you have to accept they are going to get the odd ban. Despite what most think Bailey has not tried to be that enforcer, no more so than your average forward.I respect any player who does it honestly & openly & accepts their punishment, rather than a cheap shot merchant 3rd man in.

bit harsh after one game. Need to give him a few games at least before considering dropping him IMO. Herbert looked poor his first game too but is gradually improving with more gametime.

Briggs won't be dropped but he may find himself on the bench.
Sykes is the one who shouldn't be in the 17.

He didn't deserve been picked in first place. His display against Salford wasn't good enough for him to keep his place either.

Benching a half isn't really an option. Briggs either starts or is dropped entirely. Still think he needs a couple of games to find his feet, although I think Potters going to pull a surprise and southernwood going to get a game at some point over Easter period.
Personally assuming all available I'd bring platt,ah van and Royston in and drop raynor,Sykes and whitehead with walker going into 2nd row. Should tighten our defence out wide up. If elima isn't fit then between whitehead and Bateman for a bench spot.
