Personally i prefer Sunday games, but if the club can increase revenue playing Fridays it makes sense. I'd still turn up on a Friday.

Just seen the furore on Facebook. Would've been better if the club could've been a bit clearer on how they arrived at this decision and cited actual data from a survey. Having said that you can't please everyone.

They can't please everyone. A lot of folk work on Sundays now anyway. Attendances haven't been great this year so don't mind them trying something different. Everyone losing their mind on FB, it might end up only being a few games on a Friday anyway.

Jeez, people like a moan don't they!

You have to try new things and innovate. Stand still and you go backwards.

This feels a good balance of trying something without wholesale change (and following a trial this season!)

I personally loved the Friday night games (even battling the M62 over from Wigan), there seemed to always be a better buzz under the lights.

What would the haters say if we were in SL and having games moved for TV? Get the games in your diary and sort your arrangement around it! pfffft

Whilst it hasn't put me off buying a season ticket, I can understand the view of people with young families. Perhaps they would have been better doing an 'extended trial' of Friday evening games to cover the school summer holidays and possibly one or two selected fixtures?

Unfortunately cannot please everyone and I can see the logic of trying to avoid clashes with people's plans for Sunday when they might choose other options for a day out. I know a few have raised the question of away fans travelling but let's be honest, I think with the exception of Wakefield the away fans visiting has been at an all time low this year. Teams like Fev/Fax use to bring a reasonable following but I'm probably being generous if I said they brought 150 fans.

In the press release, they have just said "the summer months" which could be anything from 3-7 games on a Friday night I suppose.

The away fans use the excuse of the stadium as to why they won't go but it's actually they're less confident of a win than they have been in recent years as we've improved.

remember back in the Northern days not going to Widnes because I said Naughton Park was a dump but also because it was a long way, and expensive and er er we usually got smashed (the main reason).

Same rules apply now.

A lot of years since I had a season ticket but back now, one for my daughter too (whether she'll use it or not, we'll see!), but Friday nights combined with what seems to be positive moves upwards and forwards, I'm excited and wanted to back the club - and also hope to see old faces more regularly again too!

I read on socials that early bird sales are up 38%, which is great. The piece did also go on to mention we are "comfortably over 1000"

Now I know that could in theory be 1999, but even the seems low? Is that where it's been for the last few years?
2/3+ of the bate being walk up?

Any increase in sales can only be seen as a positive.

Lots of different figures being quoted in recent weeks. A job for Radio 4's More or Less programme icon_wink.gif

As dddooommm says any increase is good news. Let's face it, we've been through some bad times and we're still a fair distance from SL. Odsal in February isn't going to be a big draw to a lot of people. What the club needs to do next is go out and get a new audience like Peter Deakin did in 95-96. I get the feeling we're not quite doing that.
